This might indeed make a difference.
I don't want this to come across as patronising, but as a piece of advice, from someone that works in customer services, I would explain the matter in a polite and concise manner what my perception of the problem is. I would try to avoid "loads of people are saying this on the BTVS forum" and that kind of stuff.
I'm sure they would prefer to know your opinion on a case-by-case basis. I do get the feeling that their customer care department is pretty conscientious.

Here is the amswer I got from Sideshow about my request to cancel my order. Dear Paul, Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Department. Please know that the final pictures of the Premium Format Buffy figure will be updated on our website until about a month before the item will be available for shipping. These pictures will be of the final piece that will be shipping once received in our warehouse. If you would like to cancel your order for this item, now or once the final production piece is posted, we will be happy to waive cancellation fees due to the change in the description of the item. Please let me know if I should cancel this order now, or if you want to wait to see what the final piece will look like. If anyone else has noticed they havent changed the sculpt one bit, the have just flattened the hair from the curls to lie flat against the body, hence the flatness, you now what wee all screamed for. They have most certainly changed the sculpt. Her chest has been changed along with the hair. Both of which throw the figure off of what she looked like in those season 1 promo photos (pre-anorexic look Buffy - the look I like). I was going to post comparison shots, but I don't know the regs on this board. If you look at the Sideshow shots (from their website) vs. the shots taken from any of the SDCC sources ... she is different. I will wait and see, but SDCC was only two weeks before that one month picture posting deadline customer service stated. I don't think too much change will happen before August 5th (one month before the Septemeber 5th shipping date).

Where'd you come up with the shipping date?
Anyway, based on the response Scullow received, it sounds like the figures are already in production, so it's too late to make changes. Either that or Sideshow doesn't think pushing back the shipping date would be cost-effective (in other words, Sideshow doesn't care all that much whether lots of people don't like the hair or whatever else).

I'm sorry, the shipping date would be more like September 15th according to my Flex-Pay email from Sideshow ...
"Please note your final payment of $125.49 plus freight and any applicable sales tax or VAT will now be charged on September 5, 2006. Please anticipate shipment of your order approximately 7 to 10 business days after your final payment has been processed."

I have sent an email cancelling my order because I find it hard to believe that they will improve it enough between now and September to make me still want to buy it. :-(

This is a copy of the email I got from Sideshow yesterday about my request to cancel my flexpay order.
Dear Paul,
Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Department. I am so sorry for my delay in responding to your e-mail; please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this delay may have caused you.
As per your request your order #T326664 for the Premium Format Buffy figure has been cancelled and there will be no cancellation fees charged. Please allow 24-48 hours for the status of your order to update in your on-line account.
Your refund for the first installment which was already paid will be refunded to your credit card in the next 24 hours however; it may take your bank a few days to actually put the money back into your account.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Best regards, Jennifer Bigham Customer Service Sideshow Collectibles 2630 Conejo Spectrum Street Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 USA Ph: (805) 214-2100 ext. 2 Ph: (800) 474-3746 Fx: (805) 214-2190USA
I am so glad they were so understanding as I was not happy with the way this figure turned out. If they could not improve the hair the should have left it alone IMO.

I got the confirmation email this morning cancelling my order and I checked my Sideshow account. I will no longer be getting the blob haired girl.

Ye I dont want to agree, but it was nicer beforehand. So glad Spike is perfect in sculpt, just the paint ap's that could bring this beauty down.

I think people should at least wait until pics of the final product are posted before deciding whether to keep their orders.
