Hi Guys! Sorry if this question seems ridiculous but I kinda need to know... In displaying my Sideshow figs some dust has collected on my precious collectibles and I was wondering, is it safe to clean the figures with a damp cloth??? I am afraid that perhaps some of the paint may come off in the process, so I dare not attempt it until I have an expert opinion!! LOL... So that's my question....is the paint permanant enough to withstand a few wipe downs every now and then as long as I don't use soap? Thanks ahead of time for any advice you can impart!

Well I don't have any of the Sideshow Figs at the moment (But all that is set to change soon ) But I do the very same thing: damp cloth with no soap, to clean my 6" figures and they're absoloutely fine afterwards. In fact, they're better than fine - they're glowing! Just as long as the cloth has been wringed out properly and you don't use soap, then I think it should be fine. You might want to check with some other members aswell, though

Thanks for your input but those are the 6" figures you are speaking of. I only have the 12" so can somebody help me out? Will I lose some of the paint in trying to keep em' clean? These are too expensive to take a chance in ruining...

Hilgirl I use compressed air in a can. I don't put it too close to the figures and just give it quick little light blasts. This works especially good on the figures with the cloth costumes, like the Gentlemens, which tend to get really linty and are hard to dust off. I also use a swifter dusting thing too, but on the Gentlemens it's hard to still get the dust off if you waited to long. I try not to let the dust build up.

Hey Firefly Flanatic!
Wow, that's a great idea! I never thought of it, but yeah, it would prevent getting the figures wet or damp. A friend of mine uses that stuff for his audio equipment so I know what you're talking about. THANKS!

Air in a can does work great, I use it for my buffy statues too, and it gets in the tight spots!
