I just called Sideshow and was speaking to a person from Customer Service. I was asking about the status of my PG Buffy figures. I was told that they would most likely be shipped out in a couple of days but they couldn't guarantee that. When I asked why they weren't shipped out with my Spike figures I was told that the Spike figures arrived first. When I mentioned that others had already received all the figures in the same shipment I was told that it was probably because I live on the East Coast.
I then mentioned that I had requested that all the figures be shipped at once via an e-mail and I was told they can't guarantee that they get shipped together. I also brought up the fact that I had e-mailed complaining about how Willow looked and how she looked nothing like the prototype and I hadn't heard anything back from Sideshow and the girl on the phone told me it was the exact same figure. When I argued with her that it was not and that the face looked somewhat deformed like it had been a molding error she told me there was no error and that the doll was the exact same thing shown on their website.
This was making me so angry because I know that is not true. When I was telling her that it wasn't just me who thought this she still insisted it was the same as the prototype. She then said she'd talk to her manager and she put me on hold came back a minute later and said I could return them if I wanted too. I explained that I didn't want to return them because I collect them but that I just felt that Sideshow should show an honest representation before the figures are sold as to what they look like. She then told me that they are represented exactly the way they look and that the website shows the actual figure. Again, I was getting really mad at this point and I asked if I could speak to the manager. Of course, she puts me on hold again and comes back and tells me the manager isn't in right now (funny how the manager was there when I was put on hold a few seconds prior). I mentioned a couple times that I was going to post all this on the Buffyboards that I frequent. The first time I said that was when she offered to go and "talk" to the manager".
She offered to let me leave a message with the manager's voice mail and I was like, "what's the point? She's just going to tell me that the prototype and the actual figure sold are the same". And the girl says that she may be able to give me more information and is more knowledgeable. I asked her then is she just guessing that the prototype and the actual Willow sold are the same and she insisted that she saw the figure and it looks the same to her. At that point I should've asked her if she's a fan of the show and if she actually knows what Allyson Hannigan looks like but I just needed to get off the phone because I was so mad.
When she was pushing for me to leave a voice message I told her to look up my e-mail that I sent and give her manager that.
My intent in calling was just to check on the status of my PG Buffys and to mention that I hadn't gotten a reply to my e-mails. I even said right off that bat that I didn't want to return them but that I was disappointed in how she turned out and that it wasn't an honest representation on the website. It was only when she was insisting it's the same exact figure was when I started to get really annoyed. I hate getting like that and it wasn't my intention but I felt like I wasn't getting respected or heard and that she was basically telling me either I was lying or that I was crazy if I thought the actual figure and the prototype aren't one in the same.
Okay, I feel better for getting that rant of my chest!
