Egads, that's horrible. I've only gotten the first 4 Sideshow Buffy figs so far, and apparently the quality has gone way down since then. I'm glad I never got around to ordering Willow. I think I might actually return PG Buffy. Anyone feel like staging a protest by having everyone who bought it return it?

I think it's too soon to be saying that Sideshow sucks. I have every figure they released for this line from the first Buffy and the three Gentlemen up until Willow (my PG Buffys and Vamp Spikes should be coming soon).
Out of all of them, only two have been disappointing to me which are Faith and Willow. I think the two PG figures are definitely something that the hair can be played with to make look better. The faces look great even though they don't look like the prototypes. The exclusive looks really funny right now because the hair is too tightly curled up around her face but if you wet it to get it to loosen up and frame her face, she should look really good - at least that's my plan and what I'm hoping to do when I get mine.
But, that said, I think Sideshow should go back to just the regular molded figure hair and not try the rooted hair again because so many people weren't happy with it from the get go.
I was excited about the regular PG Buffy with the hair down and it's too hard to tell from the pictures with her in the box how she really looks but right from the beginning with the Exclusive version the hair looked like it would be hard to get it to look good. I'm going to try to make it look good because she'll look so cool posed with the Master holding her from behind getting ready to take a bite!
And as for Willow, she's grown on me. She'll never be as nice as the prototype but I still like her. Faith, on the other hand, was wrong right from the beginning. But Buffy and the Gents were perfect, Buffy GD, Angel and Spike were great, Angelus was great (he looks better in real life than the prototype), The Master and Vamp Willow are great. Oz, Vamp Buffy, Der Kindestod and Origins Angel look like they are going to be great too.
So I think it's a little too soon to be saying that Sideshow isn't good anymore based on the Willow figure and the two PG Buffy's. A lot of you expressed you didn't like the figure from the get go because of the rooted hair and it makes sense that you still wouldn't like them. They both sold out so I'm guessing most people liked the idea.

FireflyFlanatic-tiny curling iron question-if you get a pen and cut it in half (or in 3(straw works too) dampen the hair, take some spray gel spray the part you want to curl-use the cut up pen as a curling iron-get your hair dryer (on cool low setting) for a few minutes and then do the rest of the hair you want to curl-(or put her in front of a fan)leave the curls in tact (she should look like Shirley Temple) then spray the hair one more time all over wait untill the hair is completly dry then take your fingers and loosen the curls as much as you want. That will work for any style you want for rooted hair. Dont use a hot iron, or put your hair dryer on a hot setting-you have a chance of getting frizzes-and making her look like she had one too many bad bleach jobs. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the pics! I was able to call Sideshow & cancel my order before it shipped. The regular one is still coming, hopefully it doesn't suck.

I got both versions today and I like the one with her hair down better. As for the one with her hair up, I took her bangs or ringlets out of the top of her hair so that they hang next to her face as in the episode and she looks a lot better that way.

I'll be getting mine next week, supposedly on the 8th but so far, all my FedEx shipments have come a day early so I'm hoping for the 7th!
Anyway, I thought she might look better with the hair hanging around her face and I can't wait to see for myself!
In your opinion, Buffyfannumerouno, do you think it's the same sculpt on both figures? I'm just really curious about this because it didn't look like the same sculpt for the prototypes.

Ok, honestly... I just got mine today... the exclusive... and she is SERIOUSLY my FAVORITE of the Sideshow line!!
Those pictures were horrible that were taken... OR it was just your figure... because all I did was lightly brush the hair down... I hardly even touched it, and it was fine.... she looks so amazing and beautiful... I am seriously loving this SO MUCH. And yes, that is Prophecy Girl Buffy... the EXCLUSIVE version, with real hair, that I am talking about.
I'll get pics sometime this weekend, I'm too stoked to keep a camera steady right now.
After seeing those pictures earlier, I was getting so scared that they screwed up like they did with Willow... but I dont see anything wrong with PG Buffy, and that was my 2 cents... or 53 bucks, however you look at it.

When I looked at the two Buffys next to each other, they are in fact the same face sculpt, it's just the hair that is different.

When I looked at the two Buffys next to each other, they are in fact the same face sculpt, it's just the hair that is different. You are right it is the same (which is good because it is an excellent sculpt) but they filled out her face a little to reflect her Season 1 "baby fat" appearance. I am pretty happy with this figure, I just am going to fix her hair. I also oredered the reg version so I think I will like than one even better. It is a good thing for Sideshow that they did a good job with this one after the Willow disaster.

I am so happy to hear these happy comments about this figure. I honestly thought the face sculpt looked great in the pictures that were posted and I knew the hair on the exclusive looked like it could be worked with to make her look even better. I don't quite understand Sideshow's logic in not just letting her hair hang down in front of her face in the first place because a lot of people never take the figures out of the box but maybe if they don't do that, they risk the hair getting tangled in the delivery process?
And I agree that it's good that these figures and the Vamp Spike figure look so good after what happened with Willow. Yes, she's grown on me but I'd still prefer her to look like that wonderful prototype!
My Buffys should be coming on Monday or Tuesday and I can't wait to display the exclusive with the Master holding her from behind!!

i didnt post anything on the Willow, I received it last week and the box art rules, the body and outfit are great, but the face just sucks. I still havent decided if Im keeping it or not..
However! Yesterday I got my 2 Buffy's and Vamp Spike in one big Sideshow box. Yay
They all look great, and I thought the Buffy's looked amazing, I like the hair. I have enough figures with sculpted hair, its nice to have something different. And unlike the willow, these figures look like what I preordered..

Ok, I just received my Prophecy Girls and I gotta say that I am extremely disappointed. I opened the Exclusive and tried to do something with her hair and she still looks horrible. The regular version is still in the box. I am going to put these up on Ebay, and I gotta say that if the Sideshow line continues like this, it's gonna hit some trouble. The workmanship is pretty slipshod, and as far as quality - ewww. My all time favorite Sideshow Buffy is their original HUSH Buffy, and I think I will just keep her.
TEXTIf anyone on the Board is interested in these figures, please PM me and I'll give you a great deal! TEXTI'm not sure if Sideshow takes returns after the item has been opened. The Exclusive was open for like 24 hours, but other than trying to fix her hair, it is brand new, except for the fact that there was no paint where her hair is pulled back, and there is a tiny spot on the front of her dress - all there when I opened her. The regular version is still Mint in the Box.
PM and we'll work it out! Thanks, Annette Can I Be Anne

I got mine yesterday and messed around with it for a bit. Fannigan27 is right, those pictures a few pages earlier don't do it justice at all.
I didn't notice it right away, but there's stands of hair that are tucked beneath the hair but not tied into the ponytail, and they easily pull out and hang in front of Buffy's face just like the p[icture on the inside flap of the box. I haven't had enough time to fix mine so they stay, but it really does look pretty good. Now my only complaint is that the hair should have been a lot darker since it's supposed to be from season 1.
