It is kind of odd that the figure isn't up for preorder yet. They do have the announcement up on the Buffy page but no way to preorder him.

He is up for pre-order but you must use the link from the newsletter. It's not possible to find him through the search feature at this stage. BTW, my guess was spot-on. 2500 pieces, exclusive to Sideshow's site. But it does sound like there will be some allocated for overseas distributor. So information about the figure having an 'exclusive to site' as well as a 'normal retail' version is wrong. The only version is the one on the site. It has removeable eyestalks, which is pretty cool . www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=20151

I like the look of him. However I do think the hair needs to be a bit more thin and wispy. I like the hand and facial sculpts. I will definatley be trying to get my hands on this at some point!

I preordered him. I can't wait to add him to my collection. Hopefully there will a lot more demons to come this year. But of course after Xander, Giles and Cordelia.

I don't collect Sideshow Figures, but I might pick this one up. I think Sideshow should stick to demon figures. This one is much better than any previous ones they have done.

does anyone else think Der Kindestod will be sporting most of the Gentlemen's clothing as well as the Master's hands? I do. I don't mind, with this line you can use parts like that and it won't be as noticeable, but I juse have a feeling that's what's going to happen. I LOVE THIS FIGURE!!!!!

No, I don't think there's any reuse with this particular figure. His hands are more elongated than The Master, but they do look similar.

The figure is amazing. Der Kindestod is definitely the villain that scared me the most. I really want to pick him up.

I would never ever ever order this figure. Even if I had ordered all the figures before, and was completist on this line like I am on the 6" and Palz line, I would still not get this figure. It would scare the crap out of me. Those eyes coming out...ohhhhh noooo. I developed a fear of dolls when I was a kid because of a camp story I heard about a doll who if you didn't feed her, at night her eyes would shoot out of her head and kill you. To this day if I havn't had enough sleep, I still get a bit creeped out by dolls, figures, mannequins, puppets, ventriloquist dummies, you name it. I could not have this in my house.
But way to go Sideshow that made a figure so scary realistic that I don't want to buy it.

It has removeable eyestalks, which is pretty cool I preordered him and I think he looks fantastic. I am glad they are not making an exclusive version with eyestalks. Instead, they are making one version with removeable eyestalks. Great move Sideshow!!

This figure is so boring, what's next, She-mantis?
I would really prefer an Adam, Glory or Kendra figure. Someone more central to the Buffy show.
Heck, this line is made for Victorian era Angel, Spike, Dru and Darla figures (the clothes would be amazing)
Plus they could make clothing accessories for years. Victorian nightgowns, fancy dresses, suits, overcoats, ripped clothes and so much more.
Dru alone had some pretty cool outfits.

Even though this is a Sideshow Exclusive and there will not be a regular version, I was thinking if I should cancel my order and just buy him from another store. Any suggestions?

Would they be sold at other stores? I thought "Sideshow Exclusive" meant you could only get it through their website.

Would they be sold at other stores? I thought "Sideshow Exclusive" meant you could only get it through their website. Yeah everyone will be buying it from Sideshow. I know the other Exclusive's Faith,Spike,Willow,Master,Vamp Spike sell on ebay but they go for a lot more money. But those are only 500 or 750. Der Kindestod is limited to 2,500... Anyone see my point?? Even if this is limited to Sideshow I still have a feeling people on Ebay or stores might be selling this figure cheaper... I am not going to cancel my order but I feel like this brings up a good point. What do you think?

Well...I gotta warn you. Retailers have to buy this figure at retail prices so for a retailer to make money on this, the secondary market price would have to first cover the cost of the figure and their shipping cost. I tried ordering this at Toy Fair and was told I could only order 2 figures at retail. I'm keeping one and the other one is going to a loyal customer. So...I couldn't even sell you one if I wanted to. And boy, I'd love to. pxl

This figure should be released soon, after all 2nd quarter is considered to be April/May/June. I can't wait to get him in the mail. I don't know if I want to display him with out his eyes or with them.
