I think its important to remember that just because most of the fans were unhappy with Fred, that doesnt automatically mean her sales were horrible. From the looks of it...she sold as well, or better than, all of the other regular Angel figures. Many people picked up extras to customize because she was so bad.
And her variants....Illyria was an instant hit and probably one of the best selling figures in the whole Buffy/Angel line. Shells Illyria, thanks to her limited avilability, sold out super quick as well.
Add onto that the fact that DST knows we all want more Freds and I'd say its a pretty safe bet that she will be included in another line soon. Hopefully the deluxe line.
Cordelia's chances arent as good, I dont think. Her figures are still available everywhere and are marked down in many places too. None did as well as Illyria and none were chases so they didnt disappear fast because of that. Plus the whole issue with the figures breaking didnt help...I think it will take a lot of begging to convince them to do more Cordelias. I dont think any company (besides MAC) sees her as a power seller either. Look at how long it took sideshow to do her and she still hasnt sold out there.
I am hopeful for Tara too. I think she did ok and it looks like DST will take any excuse to make more Willow figures. So after the dust settles from the deluxe Willows and DST is looking to cash in on her popularity again, I think they will then get around to making more Taras...probably at least one in a two-pack with Willow hopefully OMWF).
So I'm expecting more Freds soon, more Taras at some point and I'm not holding my breath for Cordelia.
