It's been bugging me for weeks, longer, ever since I first saw this figure.
"Who does she look like if not Fred?"
Finally I got it.
I was watching TV last week, channel hopping, and I glanced at "Will & Grace".
So we have, separated at birth, "Season 3 Fred & Debra Messing".
Amazing likeness.

OMG!! That's it. You're totally right on the money. I knew the figure looked like someone but not Fred.

I couldn't remember it either xtinaslayer (I only hve Seasons 1 & 2 of the Angel series on DVD, though I plan to get the rest) and finally saw it awhile back too. It's the one where the squiggly little (or big, depending on what you compare it too...let's just say they weren't giant maneaters, but about as big as like a cat maybe?) glowy silver fish looking things come thru the portal in the hotel that had to have water (some of the more memorable scenes - the bugs had taken over the pool that was below the floor in the dance hall that they ddn't even know they had in the Hyperion, Fred cracking the snow globe and drinking the water from it, and of course Connor showing up at the end in his Bigfoot and WildBoy Outfit. :-)
I was also able to do a custom job on my Fred to get her down to a more realistic size by cutting out sections of her lower leg and the cuffs of the pants and gluing them back together, and also using a dremel to sand down her arms, legs, torso and that big ol butt. :-) Also sanded down the top part of her head which was part of what made it look so huge. With all that, she's still tall (tho Fred is taller than the other girls) but fits in a LOT better with the existing line.
It really would be cool if they could just re-release her in a different scale - though that would probably end up generating a lot of demands for exchanging her whihc isn't feasible of course. I remember seeing various pics of Boot Legged Star Wars figures where the company had used some machine to copy the figures and then re-produce, often at larger or smaller sizes. So it would be cool if one of the counterfeit companies would make a copy at say 85% of the current Fred - I'd soooo love to have a Fred in scale (and the same for Shells Illyria - who would then make an easy Fred S5 repaint variant, which I'm assuming didn't happen due to the scale issue) and even Illyria could be smaller (though she is the least affected by it, and with her powers of changing her appearance, I just always pretend she's done it to look more ominous - totally believable within the storylines).

I wound up buying 5 Season 3 Fred figures. One of them had an odd bump in her eyelid, one had a glossy forehead and cheek, one had wierd looking eyes, and one was just wierd looking. None of them had any resemblance to Amy Acker, but the 5th one I got was perfect. It actually did resemble Fred and the paint job was perfect. I am so thrilled that I don't care that I had to buy 5 to get a good one. Actually, the 5th one was free from Buffycollector Club. I only bought 4. YES!
