maybe we should have put Spike in the Buffy section... look at this: www.diamondselecttoys.com/news/08-30-04/spike_0804.aspat the bottom, it says nothing about Angel. It has a Buffy figure background and the Buffy logo. i thought these were being released as part of the Angel line? but come to think about it...theres only really Just Rewards Spike from Angel, all of the others are from Buffy. Does anybody else think we might have got this wrong?

As far as I know, Human and Vampire Spike will be on Angel cards and Grave, Beneath You, and Fool For Love Spike will be on Buffy cards. At least that's how it was explained in the last Q&A.

Yeah, I guess it's kind of drifted away from me now but sometimes I do wonder what the hell he's doing in the Angel III line. It is a little unfair because selling off this image of Spike favors the people who started watching Angel only when Spike joined the cast while other fans who either watched Angel alone or both Buffy and Angel don't get a figure of someone who is a more important character to the series. I already have a pretty good Spike figure and even if I didn't then I would set my sights on Ikon Spike or a Spike on ebay but there's no where I can go to get a Fred figure or a Lilah figure . I'll definatley stick with DST for the future lines of BtVs/AtS figures but right now I think I may just buy regular and shirtless Spike if that. On the bright side, Darla will be out soon and she is perhaps the best villain of the series.

Season Five Spike is from Angel Season Five not Buffy Season five. Whenever a season based figure is produced for a certan line(mainly Buffy and Angel) they just tell you the season because they assume you know its for that certan line. Spike is coming in the Angel line, so It would be from Angel. They should be more specific though. I got a little confused too. I think the reason Spike is in the Angel line is because he was last seen on Angel, so there is a posibility that if they released him in the Buffy line he wouldn't be as popular.

If it was someone like Harmony, Cordelia or Drusilla I could understand... but its not - its Spike! I personally think that Diamond is too scared to plunge in at the deep end, and instead is just realeasing A Main Buffy figure to insure strong sales from the Angel line, rather than risking the chance that the line may flop (this could happen if they aren't careful). Well anyway, I think we should look forward to the future... at least Spike and Darla will anchor it down and establish the line - paving away for characters like Wesley, Lorne and Gunn. Anyway, it seems that when it comes to the Angel line, it is being slightly neglected (like in the days of Mac!). It doesn't really matter though, I don't care - I supose any new figure is a good figure, considering the line was previously axed.

Besides it's been a while since Spike had a figure made and Buffy, Angel, Cordy and Willow have all already had 2 figures (shame alot of them sucked. Thanks MAC!) I'm not exactly glad that Spike's got another figure before Wesley, Gunn and Fred, but at least they're damm good figures anyway!

I think the line really needed a Spike. I started collecting after the first one was no longer available, and from what I understand he wasn't all that widely available to begin with (apologies if I'm wrong on that). What I've heard from other people about IKON Spike leaves a lot to be desired, especially considering I usually see him sell for twice the price of a regular figure.
I think the awesome variety of Spikes will attract a lot of new fans to the line as well. He's a hugely popular character, so he'll bring both strong sales and hopefully many customers who will buy the future figures as well. Plus he had a big presence on both shows -- hopefully in the same way he drew some Buffy fans to Angel (tv-wise), he'll help do the same for the figures lines.

What I've heard from other people about IKON Spike leaves a lot to be desired, especially considering I usually see him sell for twice the price of a regular figure. You are VERY right about that. The original Spike is very scarce, partly because he was made before he was even a regular on Buffy. He became a regular right around the time of the figure's actual release, so demand skyrocketed even as distribution had huge problems when the exclusive holder went bankrupt. The figures eventually trickled out to various stores, but for all these reasons was only available at retail price (well exclusive price, so a bit more than the average figure) for about a month. Ikon Spike helped a bit in meeting demand, but the fact is that it's a pretty sad repaint with ridiculous colors. Every new Spike is very different from that original based on his season 2 evil look. They all show the huge span of his character's evolution. So I think there is very good reason for all of these new versions.

what i meant is, if you look next to where it says 'stake your claim...' on the poster, it has the buffy logo. even if only 2 of these figures are to be released in the angel line, wouldn't they have put the angel logo on the poster?
