I attended the Tampa Vulkon this past weekend that had the lovely Emma Caulfield in attendance.
Someone asked in the Q&A what she thought of being an action figure.
She thought that it was good that someone was making money off her face. She said she didn't really have input on what was approved but liked what she had seen. I then took this chance to ask her if she knew of the new line coming out and that there would be five varients.
She said that she did know of the new line, but not that there would be five figures. She (an admitted geek - loves Star Trek) said of course she'll have to buy them all and then make fun of herself for having them.
I had printed out some of the sculpts to show her, but in my fangirl nerves forgot to pull them out to show her. I was hoping to be able to type her exact reaction to seeing them.
If DST is interested in further contact with her (JD?) I could get word back to her through some of my contacts.
Mainly I just wanted to say that she seemed happy that Anya, a character she said she loved everything about, is getting so many figures.

They've said in a previous Q&A that they often give samples to the actors/actresses invovled. I know Aly got all the Willow figures and has them on her wall.

Very cool, it just sounded from how she was talking about it she would be buying them. I think she'd be thrilled with how great the figures are, mcsigh.

*raising hand in the air shaking it wildly * That was my girlfriend's question. The first one about "how it feels coming into the show thinking you were there for one episode, and end up there til the end and it being a cult phenomenon with action figures, ornaments, blah blah blah..." Guess I just wanted to say hey I was there too. She was everything I expected and so much more. Although I did have some guilt having her sign my Bunny Anya after her response to the question.

Sorry bout that, no you didn't miss anything. She had mentioned that she makes no money off of the figures/ornaments. I just thought it was a little sad is all. Not that I would EVER sell it but having her sign the blister; would that increase or decrease the value? She signed it over the photo of her face. It looks really good. I will try to post a photo if people would like.

It would probably raise the secondary market value, but without a COA it's just your word that it's authentic. And COA's are often not worth the paper they're printed on.
But the value to you is far more important. I'm jealous, I'd like to see her in person too.

Damn, that's a shame that she doesn't get any money off the figures. I hope that she at least gets royalties from the dvds. If so, that's one reason to avoid pirates people!
Anyway, damn cool that you guys went to the Q&A with her. She was at a convention in Australia last year (I think it was last year) but unfortunately I didn't make it. She was supposedly awesome. I love her character, and I'm sure a huge part of it is due to her portrayal.

Oh psht, don't have guilt about her signing your Bunny Anya.
And as for her comment on not getting money from it I think it was another dig at her relationship with FOX. She did make clear that she liked the figures and found them fun. Just upset that someone can "own" her likeness. But as she said "it's nice that someone else can make money off my face"
And, I was the person after your girlfriend that asked if she knew about the five different varients. I carried around a large green and white fish over the weekend.

ahem okay. The fish's name is Jerome. He went on a roadtrip with some friends of mine (Miss Edith) to Alabama to see Amber Benson's movie Chance. One of our friends couldn't come so we said Jerome was the soul fish and it was like she was with us. On the almost eleven hour drive we recorded the fish acting like our friend and then at the festival interviewed people with him. When it came time for Amber's Q&A we asked if she would pose with the fish. She did. I then went to Moonlight Rising and had Amber sign Jerome. This then turned into my safety blanket fish that I took with me to any con and got people to sign and take pictures with. It's been fun and also gives me a little pillow, something to clutch when I'm nervous. If you want to see some pics of Buffy actors with Jerome just click on this link and it shoooould take you to my Yahoo pictures account. f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/taintedidealist/album?.dir=/0f23&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos aaand that's the story.

I wish she had been able to see all the figures indvidually. Never mind, anyways, its great to see another actress enthusastic over their action figures. She has the same kind of attitude toward the figures as Juliet Landau had - extrememly accomadating and pleased with them.
