I was wondering if with the new Proboards version there is a way to limit new members from posting more than a certain amount of posts daily for a short period of time so that they may become familiar with the board gradually?
For instance, over the weekend a young person registered twice, gave his age as 13 once then 14. In less than 24 hours he had posted over 100 times. He might be the sweetest kid ever but after spamming the board his redemption would take a lot of time in a lot of people's eyes. Had he been able to make only 10 or 15 posts a day for say a week or two then he could have gradually worked himself into the community more successfully.
I don't know if this is plausible or even necessary but after this weekend it did occur to me. I see that the new members who registered over the weekend have been reverted to guests so the screening is obviously going back into effect which is good because the moderators have done beautifully with that.

There is a new "Limited Registration" option that requires all new members to be approved by an admin before they can join. I activated that option on Friday, but it looks like it didn't actually work and everyone that wanted to was able to join. We've disabled new signups until Proboards gets the new Limited Registration working.
