Well it wasn't that expensive, so think of it as your first prop custom. You'll probably have to purchase some resin, magic sculpt to fix all the little cracks and damages. Maybe some glue. You will most defiantly have to repaint the entire thing.
I suggest magic sculpt rather than super sculpey because you don't have to boil it and suggest a rather fragile piece to more damages.
Magic sculpt is easy to work with. It's just like modeling clay. So even if the chip pieces are missing you can reshape it easily and it only takes about an hour and a half to air dry.
I'd probably purchase this from you if you don't feel that you can do it. I'm not too sure about the paint job, so I will have to go back and see how Hansi and Joan did theirs.

Thats an easy fix! All you need is a hot glue pistol, a newspaper, air drying sculpey and some filler. My cat dropped mine and I fixed it without having a visible damage. I would glue everything back in position, hotglue a piece of plastic or something on the inside of the bookfront to prevent any more cracking. Glue those bookpieces together (guess you dont keep anything in that box anyways). Resculpt the broken edges and bit around the book. Some places need to be stuffed with newspaper or foam since that thing is hollow. Use filler to cover the cracks. A bit of sanding and painting and it will be better then new!

Woah. Bargain but damaged. Like BA1 said, its easily fixable. Id take a slightly different approach but either way would work. I would use Car Body Filler for the damage, this stuff is strong. It stinks but they use it on cars, so you know it will be strong. And it sands nicely. Personally. Id seal this thing up, its not likely you will store stuff in it anyway. Fix the damage, like BA1 said, stuff the areas with card or paper and fill over them. Then i would glue the front to the box and fix any more visible cracks. This book needs a repaint anyway (damaged or not) but i think its definitely do able Wayne

Yeah I will probably do this myself. It will be quite a challenge though as I don't want to ruin it. When I finish up classes Monday I will work on it in my spare time! My dad works as a car detailer at Mercedes Benz so I am sure I have some car filler around in my garage somewhere, heck I think my dad could help me with that part. The first step should be to seal it up yes? I don't mind, I am planning to get a shelve next to my scythe to display it when it is complete...so no keepsake items will be in there trust me. haha. Some places need to be stuffed with newspaper or foam since that thing is hollow. Use filler to cover the cracks. A bit of sanding and painting and it will be better then new! So do you mean hot glue plastic in the top corner of the cover yes? and then seal it up and then rescuplt the edges with sculpy? I think I may have some left over in my room when I attempted to customize figures... lol. Some people just don't have the talent for it. I am so one of those people.

Did you use Hot Glue or just resculpt the pieces back? Looks like a combo of both, but I could be mistaken. Otherwise the progress is really nice and with a clean finish to boot. Very well done.

Mine had the same type of damage as well. Hinge near the top had cracked, but no where near as bad as PJ's - I think yours had a chip near the book spine or cover. I fixed mine with sculpey on the outside to cover up the crack and hair line crack and repainted over it. I paid $55 shipping included for mine. The only thing that bothered me was that the back of the book had orange text for VAMPYR where if you look at the box where Sarah is holding the book open and you can see the back, it's there blind as day with the text in gold matching the front of the book. The back: The front:

Great fixings!
Scoobygang, your repaint reminds me on the Premium Format Buffy Vampyr Book, very neat repaint!
Elee, love how you painted the hinges, the paint looks very watery, but love the antique touch it adds!

Yeah, I was going for the old antique look. Really worn out from age. I didn't want everything to be a one note color.
Scoobygang your's almost looks brand new and I'm glad you were able to fix all the little cracks n dings.
Looks like the majority of the ones everyone are working with are broken and being repaired and repainted. I hope they pay attention with this type of mistake. To be frankly honest wouldn't it have been cheaper to have a publishing company replicate the actual book rather than sculpting it? At least with the actual book it would'nt have broken as easily because it would've been a glue press binding.

Thanks ba/1 and elee0031 i find it's difficult to remold and repaint this book i try to do the best but it's very difficult. Elee your work is great!!! it's very hard to find a vampyr book intact no cracked not broken..... you can see most of vampyr books broken on the net.....the fox would have of to realize a real free rather than to choose a support in resin.....i'm agree with you elee.
