So for anyone that hasn't seen already, the complete sculpting process can be found across the three pages, but for those of you that just want to see the final finished Premium Format figure, here she is, complete with dark blue mantis blood. Eeeeew. Let me know what you all think! (Remember this is my first custom!) I'll be listing her on eBay in a short while (It's free listings this weekend, yay!) so I'll post a link in the for sale section Keep an eye out! Thanks for all your comments and support along the way too! I'm just figuring out now that I should be updating my original post with the pics and stuff... so I'ma be doing that from now on Okay, so I've began on the painting and so far it's a little rough, (ignore how bad the hair looks right now) I know exactly how I'm gonna achieve the check kind of design on the dress so I'm leaving that til the end... I'll explain how when I get to it.... Question: How do you get a really smooth finish to the paint, so that the brush strokes can't be seen? (I'm using matt acrylics) Help! I don't mind so much on the jacket because I've blotched it on to give it a rough and old ish look, but I want her skin to be as smooth as the resin underneath it... Here's some updated pics End of Update... Hey everyone! I'm working on my first custom and thought I'd share it with you. So far I've only sculpted the hair but I think it's going well. (I also just wanna thank Wayne for all his help in actually making a cast of my PF Buffy - couldn't have done it without ya!) I did the cast in parts, (I have all the parts done, they are yet to be attached to each other though!) I'm undecided on whether or not to include Angel's leather jacket when I sculpt the outfit, or just leave it as the dress... Suggestions? Let me know what you think! Gregory

Wow, awesome cast, no bubbles or pinnholes, so very well done. Also like the hairsculpt so far. I would probably add some more volume to the hair only on the sides, but thats just me. I definitely would go for a leather jacket. Cant wait to see more pics!

Thanks for the feedback guys I haven't added the volume to the hair just yet, but I get where you're coming from and I'll deffo be plumping it out a tiny bit.
I'm having some issues with the jacket, It's meant to be baggy because it's too big for Buffy, but for this sculpt it just seems to make her look fat... I took some more photos to show the progression - although since then part of the jacket broke off so I'm assuming its because I tried to make it too thin... I'll try again on the jacket using more super sculpey, but if she ends up looking fat or too bulky I'll have to give up on the jacket front...
(Also the last image shows it boiling in a glass pot... hence the water spots ;P)

Hm fat?... How about adding more and deeper creases to jacket, especially down the hips. Great job on the jacket so far.

Great work Gregory! I'm surprised you managed to sculpt the jacket AFTER you added the hair. Hair is always the last thing i add to a sculpt. I wouldn't worry too much about making the jacket too "fat". Isn't it Angels jacket anyway? Its probably supposed to be over-sized. I agree with BA1, at this scale you can really push the folds and creases. Looking great so far. Cant wait to see her together Wayne

The only part I used was the premium format Buffy Summers 2. The one with the red pants and hair up. After making a cast of it I scraped away all of the hair that was already there and worked on top of it. I broke the legs and repositioned them slightly so it would fit her stance a little bit better And yes Customizer452 this is my first I'll post some more photos later today. Just had to order some more super sculpey because I've almost run out and haven't even started the base!

So the Buffy sculpt is complete. Now just for the base (and THEN I can paint her! - I can't wait for that bit) A few things: There is a slight difference in my jacket... I gave it an elastic waistband (as well as the cuffs on the sleeves) it just seems to make it look like it fits Buffy better. It also helps to shape it so it's not looking too huge. The deep creases really helped to stop her butt looking huge... check the photos and you'll see what I mean I added some pleats to the dress because it's ever so slightly A line and not just a tight mini dress. I've decided not to totally smooth out the jacket, it should hopefully give it a distressed/aged look. I think it contrasts nicely with the smoothness of the dress too. I almost forgot to add the zip detailing, luckily remembered as I Was putting her in the oven - she no longer fits in any of my pots so I had no choice aha! As always, your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Gregory

Just thought I'd give you all a little sneak at what I've got going on for the base... I've now got more sculpey, paint and sealant. So as soon as this base sculpt is complete I'll get on with the painting. Anyway... Thoughts?!
I know it's not episode exact, since she wasn't wearing these clothes when she slice and diced Miss French, but it's episode relative...
