Does anyone know if Factory X is ever planning on doing another run of Slayer Scythe replicas at all? Why did they stop making them? I mean I am sure a lot of fans today still want to get a hold of one, so why not make more? I am really getting frustrated in my search for one $400 or less(Ideally, I'd rather have the original price of $250) lol. I got the nerve and actually sent an email to the email listed on Factory X's website...and I will post here if I get anything back.

It was probably something hard to reproduce so sometimes they do put a limit on it. Sometimes if it sells out prior to pre-order they may expand the production, but if they haven't now I doubt they will. It will also depend on if they still have the licenses to do it still.

How much and what will it be made of?
If willowswarlock can make a cast out of the original it most likely be resin, metal, or sculpey.

Are you sure he made it? I've been to his link and it just said Props, so it could be the Factory X one that he was just displaying on his web page. It also didn't say anything about making one either. So not sure if it's a home made prop or the official Factory X version.

He definitely made one I messaged Wayne to ask for a quote recently on making a scythe

Well, they recently released a second wave, so perhaps they will again.

Well, they recently released a second wave, so perhaps they will again. I personally think they will soon. I mean it would make sense..they are still extremely popular. well, at least one can hope they will because I am sorry, I am not paying $700 for one on eBay. I am just not. lol.

You know for being so popular I don't see to many prop reproduction for this item. Xena's chakram had prop reproduction as well as the sword, some good quality and some cheap knock offs. Maybe it's the difficulty in creating it. I would love to get a scythe too, but not at the cost of $600-$700. I'm not that rich... Yet. Crossing finger n buying lotto ticket.

Well, they recently released a second wave, so perhaps they will again. I didn't know they released a 2nd wave? that's cool! I'm surprised they still even have the license. I made one when I was in college. probably around 5-6 years ago. I carved the blade myself, had it cast in Aluminium, polished, powder coated and made the rest using aluminium tubing etc. Anyway, I have been looking into making cheaper alternatives (Non metal) without compromising on quality. I have my original scythe model that I carved so it is possible. In my personal opinion, the released prop was too chunky. The handle on the scythe especially was very thick. As was the stake. The "leather" used was horrible as well! My bf has the prop replica and when he got it, we modified it straight away. My version was based on the rubber prop, using only photos and measurements provided by one of the owners. Here are some pics in case some people haven't seen it but like i said, i am looking into making some more at some point in the future. Wayne I made my scythe so it can be dismantled and fit into a backpack or box Carved Wooden Version

Wood scythe looks super sweet. If it cuts the cost down I would gladly get one from you.

I highly doubt that such a project with those kind of efforts would be any cheaper then the Factory X replica. Ive heard that they had released a 2nd wave of the Scythes, weird that they never made more Vampyr Books and Thesulah Orbs...

Maybe get the smaller version? well, that was originally $25...and now I think the last one went for $100+ on eBay which I don't think it's worth that much but. and Wayne, your replica is stunning. I also think it's a nifty idea having the scythe break down for easier transport! Is Factory X's version like that? And I agree with the whole FX leather thing. The leather on it looks horrible, which is another reason why I would never spend $700 on it. lol.

The hardest part would be creating the cast, after that is finding cheap material to create it. So even if you have to charge like $100-150 it would still be a great reproduction. I think resin is another good choice if you do not want to use metal, but like sculpey it's breakable.

Even 150$? Wayne does charge 120 GBP for a 6"custom figure (about 190$)...While his Book of Shadows replica sell for 500 GBP. Ill guess the Factory X replica would be cheaper compared to a custom made one, since each piece is individually handmade, alone the materials like wood, leather, metal, even the paintsprays. Not even thinking about the working time. I doubt that you will even find the casting material for such a huge piece in that pricerange.

I agree you are looking for $700-$800 at best. However given those are unique - personally I'd be more than happy to part with this kind of money for a real replica of the Scythe.

Lol yeah I agree I would rather have Wayne make me a replica than buy the factory X one. Plus there's never any ones on the UK ebay site anymore. There's some on the US ebay but there's no way that I would buy one from the US... the import customs tax would probably be £100 so it's not worth it!
