So, I'm new to Buffy...just started watching it about a month ago, maybe a bit more. Well, I'm already on season 5 and am completely addicted. So I was looking at the 6 inch figures and they really didn't tickle my fancy. And then I saw the Sideshow 12 inch figures and fell in love. I have a few in my watch list on eBay and they are nice prices...one is $17.99 and others are $19.99.
I wanted to ask: Is there a good site other than eBay and the Sideshow website that sell these? And are they still In Stock? What are the general prices? And most importantly, Which one would you recommend for me to buy? I have already decided that Prophecy Buffy is a must...I just love that dress and don't like sculpted hair on girl characters. But which other ones are worth getting? I'm sure I'll get the very main characters like Xander and Willow and Giles but I am conflicted with Drusilla, Spike, Angel, etc.
Any help would be appreciated!

I don't collect the Sideshows exclusively (I only ever got Hush and Graduation Day Buffy, and Spike) but I'd have to recommend the original Hush Buffy. It has a pretty good likeness, and heck, it is the original! You can get it for pretty cheap too Xander is cool, but most people, including myself, were disappointed with Willow. The likeness just isn't there at all. The same sentiments for Faith too. Good luck getting those rarer figures such as Spike. I sold mine when I realised he had become such a collectors item. However, it is a really nice one to have. Other than eBay, I don't know of any sites where you'll find the older ones.

Oooo I forgot about Vamp Willow. Yeah, she was much much better, but it still sucks they messed up normal Willow I purchased Grad Buffy when she was first released, so I paid normal RRP. I later sold mine however. It was just sat in my closet, with Spike, unopened and I figured someone else would get more enjoyment out of them than me. They seem to have got high collector status now!

I love the Sideshow figures myself, and have a big collection. Yes, some of the likenesses are very hit and miss, but I still prefer them to their six inch counterparts. The most expensive ones to get are (in no particular order) D'hoffryn (beacuse he was only given a very limited release of 500) Red suited Darla (The exclusive comes in a blue outfit) Spike (with extra hands and human face) Human faced none exclusive Spike (superb likeness of JM, and really worth getting) Vamp faced Angel Werewolf Oz Faith with exclusive Slayer scythe (the likeness for this one is awful I'm afraid.) Graduation day Buffy (and excellent SMG likeness with this one) Drusilla (exclusive version comes with a dead bird) Then there's your 'ordinary' releases Giles Angel version one and two (first one had his famous back tattoo, the second 'younger' looking version didn't. Both wonderful DB likenesses though.) Origins Angel (very cheap one to get hold of) Subway Spike Xander (and one with exclusive year book) Willow (and one with exclusive backpack) Human Oz (one with exclusive 'Dingos ate my baby T shirt) Vampface Spike (a very cheap one to get) The Master (also very cheap to buy) Cordy Hush Buffy The Gentlemen Lorne (exclusive comes in a blue suit) alovely little figure this one. Vamp faced Buffy (the exclusive version comes with he gravestone) Thats all I can remember at the moment. I hope you enjoy collecting them as much as I do, especially now that prices are beginning to drop. I get mine all off of eBay now. I managed to pick up blue suited Darla and an out of box D'Hoffyn quite cheaply only this week, which means I've nearly completed the set now. ;D

Thank you so much! I keep searching on eBay and have found some really great prices on a lot of them! I even found Prophecy Buffy for $15.99 BIN! Shipping is $18 though.
It's weird because most of the ones on eBay come from Canada...lol

Yeah, just keep looking and trying. A lot of online retailers will have stock, and oten have some on sale. It's a case pf persevering.
But, as someone in the throws of a sideshow journey, good luck and enjoy!
