Anyone else heard any news... and no this isnt a Apirl 1st joke.... this came from ciniquest and the owner of ciniquest was contacted and said sorry to say its not a joke. I know alot of us collect piecework and inkworks cards.

I saw this and it's really sad to see that we will no longer get any more new trading cards from them. I was hoping to try to collect the Smallville, Supernatural, Charmed and so many other trading cards from them but now it makes no sense if the series will never be completed.

Yes, not to be rude, but it is oldish news. They are stopping business, but they still have the rights etc for their licenses. No, they're not redeeming anymore. This is what was posted on another site: "After a long period of silence, Allan Caplan called today to inform us Inkworks has ceased normal business operation. They hope to do some different things in the future. Also, he wanted to let everyone know that Inkworks is still honoring redemptions for The Spirit cards. Cards should be sent to the usual Inkworks address. They will honor them through the date on the back of the card, June 30." On a positive note... the cards have dropped a LOT in price, 1) because of a flooded market on e-bay, and 2) the recession. Yes there are no new sets, but now is the time to complete the holes in your sets

Huh? Inkworks arent gunna be producing anymore card sets? Like at all?
Thats a shame. I really liked their stuff. And their Customer Service is immense. Tbh tho, i don't think they could of squeezed another Buffy set anywho. I was abit pissed about the lack of Veronica Mars S3 tho!

Vicks, how did you guess that they were closing? I must say that I saw it as a big surprise when they announced it, but understand why after no update on the site for over a month.

Something to do with the desperation that reeked off their sets: Dealer PWs, Case Incentive Cards, Inkplates. All of these ideas were to try and make people buy more cards and therefore make money. But, when you looked at the way cards were distributed it put single collectors like me and dealers off case. Who wants to buy 10 cases just to get a dual Jensen Ackles and Fredric Lehne auto? If they had done a less limited and special card then it would have made more sense. And people would buy more. Also, consider the inkplates, if they had guaranteed that you got an inkplate in every case then yes people buy more. But with some cases getting one, some two and most none, it reduced the impetus to buy more. All their retailer cards and multi-case cards did was make more money for the secondary market, which did not benefit Inkworks at all. A better idea would have been to put tokens or something in boxes to send off to redeem to get something special. Additionally, no promo set at the SDCC last year suggested cost cutting. Oh, and the desperate autographs on stickers move? An idea Allan had openly slated that his rivals did. Inkworks cards were special by having a signed card for that set to show it was genuine. But by having stickers that could have been signed a year previously and then rolled out again is wrong. To do that you have to drastically decrease the value of the card, since it is the signed sticker you are paying for, in other words a £20 signature. The writing was clearly on the wall for a long time. Biggest mistake they made to date? No autographs for the Twilight set. They had that on a plate and then forgot to get the contracts signed.

very good points it is a shame that they're gone, but I can now see what happened.

I felt bad to hear they went under. But, I contacted them recently to redeem a Supernatural auto card and they refused. Fair enough. Now I learn they just sold off all their autograph inventory to another company who will be selling them in special lots. Now, I'm annoyed. So, if anyone has an extra Season 2 Fred Lehne Yellow Eyed Demon Auto that they would part with, PM me.

I think it's wrong of them to sell the cards to another company. Maybe, if they had to re-pay debts and had nowhere else to get money it's okay, but we customers bought the packs and cards in belief that they were redeemable.
It sucks.

I'm concerned though if we buy a sealed box and get a redemption card we are jammed because they can't be redeemed anymore. So, I'm afraid of buying any sealed boxes especially of older cards.

from what I been told they are still going to redem last set of cards...but not many. I also heard they sold most of all the old stock including those old redemption cards. I been watching ebay to see if somone pops up with alot of older cards. I would say do research if there is a box of a certain season you want check their website look at the list of all cards and see if there redomption cards in it. Some have only redemption cards on auto... some on pieceworks and some have both..... like Supernautral connection cards had redemption for both pieceworks and auto cards...... but Supernatural season 3 didnt have either so your safe with them... I be glad to help anyone that got questions.... I done alot of research calling and emailing people about all this stuff!

Are all the Supernatural Connections Auto/PWs thru redemptions, or just some of them (the way Buffy sets normally are)?? Luckly I'm pretty close to completing my Buffy/Angel collections (what i want atleast) and gotten most of the redemption cards already. However, my roomate who's a smallville/supernatural fan has just started collecting smallville and supernatural cards. No real point in trying to buy Connections boxes if the autos/pws are always going to be redemptions that may or not be unfulfillable.

well it just depends.... not all of them are redemption. I had a few boxes in past I had one that both were normal cards and some that were both redemptions and few that had one and not the other. There no way to tell if u going to get what in what box. But like I said some sets never had redemptions and they are listed on inkworks site u just have to read and look!

I got this e-mail today for the Inkworks Archive website. Another company, Factory Entertainment from the UK, purchased some of Inkworks warehouse stock and is not putting it up for sale. From looking at the site, it is mainly selling the rare pieceworks, autograph cards, and other inserts or redemption cards. Prices are listed in US dollars. www.inkworksarchive.com/index.php?dsi09Jun2721=nuh1182m2bt44r19ki99cikr73
