Okay, I watched all 105 episodes of Alias in a week recently and it inspried me to pick up the figures. I hunted all over BTVSfigs and there's mentions of Alias and the figures in all sorts of threads, but no dedicated thread in this section. I mean there's only seven figures and a statue to discuss but I know how popular the show is with peopl and thought it'd be a chance for people to show off their set ups and customs.
Now I knew, going in, that the 'Series 1' figure were poodoo but I was both shocked and happy with what I have so far. I bought the SEG/N2 four figure box set with "signed" trading card. I took a photo of the suited figures which reflects my general opinion of them.
Bizarrely the likenesses are there in the sculpts - you can pretty much recognise Rifkin and Vartan. But then suited Syd stretches the disbelief a bit too much. I definitely love the choice of accessories with them, especially that Sloane comes with that damned pitcher and glass! I plan to use some of the wrestling Divas as Ana, Irina and co to round out the display a little.
The punk Sydney is pretty good to me. Her bare arms and thighs mean some articulation is missing but I was able to get her into a couple of (albeit limited) poses. So she gets her own photo all to herself!
Meanwhile I'm still awaiting the Mirage figures in the mail. Both the Syd/Michael 2-pack and the Blue Dress Syd. I think they'll be as pants as the rest but are nicely colourful.
Other than that statue of schoolgirl syd that's it then isn't it? Shame the series 2 figures never came out as I wanted marshall's desk before I even knew what Alias was!
