Many thanks Ebola!
I wasn't sure whether the so-called three-packs were in fact three-packs or just a bundle of three individual figures.
Cheers.

I was terribly disappointed by the cancellation of the Sisko/Dukat 2-pack.
DST stated they got less than a third of the pre-orders they needed to go ahead with the set. They have said there is no interest in DS9 or TNG anymore.
DST also mentioned that due to the poor reception to Odo, they wouldn't be making any more new sculpts for DS9 characters....so that rules out Quark & also ruled out Kira in Bajoran uniform for series 2.
So it looks like the future is Classic all the way. Though I hope they get in some more alien series like the Borg wave.

I managed to track down all four of the "Tribbles" variants of Sisko, Dax, O'Neil and Bashir from DS9 for just $10.00 (AUS) each (so only $40.00 (AUS) combined).
Given that my local toy store is charging $45.00 (AUS) PER FIGURE, I couldn't pass on such a bargain purchase. As I plan to get DST's re-released "original series" two-packs in July (or whenever DST actually release them), the DS9 variants should mesh well with the "original series" crew.
Cheers.

Received my set of DS9: Tribbles variants.
Overall, they're very good figures. My quibbles include some very obvious markings on the faces (which I managed to remove with an eraser strangely enough - after nothing else worked); some very poor articulation (Sisko's elbows do NOT bend - they're meant to, but they just do not remain in any position other than hanging straight down) and the very obvious and very odd sizing of the figures - O'Brien is HUGE! Sisko is TINY! I realise they just used TOS moulds/bases, but surely they could have given Sisko one of the bigger bodies so he didn't come across as such a short-azz.
Other than those fairly minor quibbles, the figures are pretty decent and come with a good range of accessories. The likeness on all the figures is pretty darn excellent - much better than DST's recent work on the BSG licence.
Cheers.

The 'Trials & Tribbleations' set were released very quickly, & were more an attempt to get some Trek toys out there with the 'Diamond Select Toys' name on the box, instead of Art Asylum. I wasn't really taken with the set as the bodies did look odd, but I managed to snag a T&T Bashir somewhere along the line & he is a beautiful stand alone figure. Got in my new hairpieces for the Star Trek Nemesis women. I wasn't a fan of the crappy hair DST gave them, so I had a customiser make proper versions:

Hehe...
They'll be pushed back a few more times I would say. DST don't do things on time.

New Q&A available at artasylum.com.
I didn't pick up on any "new" news, but I must admit that I only skimmed through most of the questions and answers.
The only thing I really noticed is that there are no plans to re-release the TOS Chekov figure (even though they are re-releasing the rest of the crew in various two-packs later this year).
Cheers.

They mention they are still 'chipping away' at the Borg wave, so atleast it is not cancelled.

That's really pathetic when they can't even get a Seven of Nine figure to sell!
Perhaps they should have dropped the electronics from the Borg Alcove so the price could be lower. Or, maybe they should have gone with Borg people cared about. Or maybe they should have gone on with characters people care about and want to own, instead of having forced "this is cool" figures shoved down our throats.
Wonder what their excuse will be.

I wish I could say I wasn't surprised by this....but I am.
Seven of Nine??? I mean holy hell...I'd thought she would have sold as well as Kirk/Spock!

Hopefully the figure will still show up as part of DST's exclusives deal with Toys R Us.
It seems they've really pushed ahead with the BSG merchandising as a result of the deal (new Anders, Colonel Tigh, minimates (and ships), etc).
Cheers.

I'm hoping Toys R Us will save the day as well. Though most on the Trek forums say Toys'R'Us are only interested in the Classic series of Trek.
The DST site is now saying the entire Borg waves have been cancelled. Speculation is that they may be holding off making the set to focus on the Toys'R'Us deal for now.
We can hope anyway.

New Q&A up at artasylum.com.
No "news" as far as I could see. They're working on getting the Borg wave released, but no real update as to how or when.
Cheers.

The problem is that for many of us pre-orders do not work. You don't always have the secured cash to stick aside. I tend to pick things up as and when I can. Oh well, what can you do!

I agree.
I don't pre-order because I much prefer to purchase the figures in-store due to the inconsistent paint-applications and other flaws/defects which are often found in the "final" figures (e.g. broken limbs). Still, I can understand that DST can only really rely on pre-orders to go into production.
Toys R Us seem to be loving the Star Trek TOS figure re-releases, so hopefully DST will work out a deal with them for the Borg release as well.
Cheers.
