actually, I had 3 ideas for challenges: 1. Whedonverse actors in non Whedon movie or TV roles 2. Challenge focusing on non Buffyverse parts of the Whedonverse- Firefly,Serenity,Dollhouse,Dr. Horrible 3. Or just a Dollhouse challenge

It would be cool to have a pairing up challenge where customizer's would pair up with each other and create something with the same theme (or same scene). It's one way of customizers collaborating with each other, even from overseas. Maybe as a one month challenge.
To explain it better, what I'm basically saying is that 2 customizers pair up, and then decide what they want to make together. Since we customizers can't really meet and collaborate in the real world, this would be a way that we could work together on something.
I also have another suggestion for a future challenge:
-High School Days (anything that took place in the school, could also make teachers, other students, etc)

Back on topic just for now... is there anyone other than Jess and me who would participate in either an Eliza Dushku or Dollhouse challenge this season?

I've been meaning to make some Dollhouse customs for a while now and would definitely be in.

Customisers, we've had quite a poor showing for the Winter Challenge. Is there something you really want to do for the Spring Challenge? I need you to think about what you have planned for the next 3 months, and can commit to entering into a Challenge thread.

If the Winter Challenge had stayed Eliza Dushku I would have been able to create quite a few entries, but Dollhouse has me limited, since I only have 1 Dollhouse custom in the works right now. I don't get a lot of orders for Dollhouse customs.
Ones I could definitely commit to are these:
-Twilight Saga -Whedonverse Season Closers (Prophecy Girl, Becoming, Grad Day, Restless, etc.) -Whedonverse Season Openers (WTTH, When She Was Bad, Anne, etc.) -Witches (Willow, Tara, Amy, Catherine) -Demons, Demons, Demons (any demon, vampire or part demon - Doyle, Angelus, Spike, Dru, Darla, etc.)

Spring 2010 Challenge - Witches, Vamps & Demons
The Spring 2010 Challenge runs from March to end of May.
This challenge is to make customs of Witches, Vampires or Demons (either in human or "real" face).
This can be from any TV, movie, book or comic property, not just Joss Whedon's. So you can do BtVS, Angel, Twilight, Supernatural, True Blood, Vamp Diaries, Charmed, or anything you fancy.

The Spring Challenge has finished. I'm not setting up any more of these for a while. With only 2 people participating each time for the last 6 months, there's just not enough interest to sustain it.

I think if there was a little prize incentive.... I mean last year I won two or three entries for the whole year contest (and I know it's different from this contest) and I won a prize, this year I won 3 categories and I didn't get anything. I'm not saying I personally need a prize to make customs but it doesn't hurt. Personally I was very eager to enter these contests. I got out of it due to time. I'd still like to do what I've been asking all of us to do--pick one show and make something from that moment (for example all the slayer potentials or beasts or memorable scene sets). Just a thought/comment.

I'm sorry to see them go. Of course, I've produced exactly one custom in the last nine months (it was for a charity auction) so I'm in no position to talk.

We could do scenes from a comic book or try to create a scene from a well-written fan-fic. I read this really good one about Willow and Tara, and thought about doing a double custom for it. OOh or we could focus on couples and have a couples challange.

I wonder if the problem has something to do with it being in this section. It's kind of out of the way, and people tend to forget easily that it's going on because they don't frequent this section as often as the the jossverse & non-jossverse sections. I wonder if it was stickied to the top of the jossverse custom section if it would get more people to join in.
I think it may have something to do with that, because I tend to forget about the challenges going on because of where it's posted. If maybe we'd give that a test run it may do better.

I agree with Jsebold : we forgot the challenges maybe because they're not in the right section. I often check the new customs in the Jossverse and nonJjossverse sections but forget to check that thread.
But it's not the only reason ... well for me. I agree with Jamersy too : there is no real reason to enter the challenge, maybe a little prize would help. Let me explain myself : I meet some difficulties to find fodders for my customs (they don't sell Buffy figures in France anymore and the shipping cost for a figure in US or UK is too expensive), so I won't use my parts for a custom that I don't plan for my own collection or that I'm not sure to be able to sell. I prefer to keep my parts for comission or for custom for myself.

Putting the challenge thread in the Jossverse section is a very good idea.
Can't promise anything with prizes, though.
Some years ago, Chad (CMK1887) was the Admin. There was an account where people donated to the site with PayPal. When Chad left, he just disappeared and didn't answer any e-mails. He took that account with him, so the site lost that money. I was a big donor, so you can imagine how that bummed me out.
When Lior took over, he managed to get some sponsorship from Cinequest. He gave out all those prizes over a 6 month period. I don't know whether he can get more sponsorship. I'll ask him.
Over the years, members have sometimes donated prizes out of their own pockets. For the last COTY, the Moderators clubbed together to give prizes to everyone. This year, the recession hit and no one volunteered.
So... let me know in this thread whether you are willing to participate in a Summer Challenge, without the lure of prizes. If so, what subjects would you like? If there are 4 firm takers, we'll go ahead.

I'd definitely be interested.
For ideas, hmmm.... What about the theme Summer Love? Any moment showing love towards another character. Could be for couples, but also family love (ex: Buffy/Dawn, Buffy/Giles). It opens up a lot of possibilities for customs.
Or maybe one of these:
-Season Openers -One Hit Wonders (characters that were only in one episode) -High School Years (customs from the High School days of seasons 1-3)
Any of those would work fine with me, or if anybody else has a suggestion.

I would defintitely be up for any of those suggestions. Or possibly: Taking The Initiative - Adam, Prof Walsh, Riley, Jonathan, or any lesser Initiative soldier or Scoobie in Initiative disguise or maybe an alternative reality based challenge - episodes like The Wish, Superstar, Birthday, as well as stuff like Tabula Rasa or even allow the entrants to do their own "What if" scenarios (I know Jess has dabbled down this path, and I'm fairly certain someone else did too) I'd also be up for donating something towards a prize if other people were - maybe anyone who enters agrees to send some custom fodder to the winner? Just a thought...
