Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some new vampire books to read and I came across The Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris. Before I get the first book in the series, can someone tell me if it's worth reading? They sound a lot like the Anita Blake books, which I liked.
Thanks! Kate

I have read two of these books. I would recomend them, but the story plot can get confusing at times. the endings are fantastic. i would rate it 4/5, for confusing story plot, but great story, anyway.

I advise you to buy 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse' straight away, lol, unless you want to be running to the bookshop in the middle of the night

Last weeks Entertainment Weekly featured the Twilight Saga on the cover and contained a pretty lengthy article about the books and the upcoming movie. I'd honestly never even heard of the Twilight Saga until I got that magazine (when I saw vampires on the cover, I just had to read more!) I think I'll go ahead and buy the others since it sounds like I'm going to love these!

Thanks. I really hope that this movie does as well as the Harry Potter movies because if they do then there is a chance that a set of figures could be made. If they were made would any of you by them?

I'm seriously buying anything that says 'Twilight' on it, lol.
Inkworks have just announced that they are making trading cards!

So I started reading Twilight last night and I'm hooked. It's definitely one of those books that sucks you right in. I'll have to swing by the bookstore on my way home from work and grab the next book in the series because I know I'll want to start reading that one as soon as I can.
As for other merchandise, I don't see myself buying anything like figures or cards since I don't really collect those things but I'll definitely see the movie.

Is this book ok for adults to read? It's not too teenagey?

I've read 3 of the Southern Vampire Mysteries and they are awesome, Charlaine Harris is my favourite author. Can't wait to see the TV series, hope it makes it to the UK. What is the general gist of the Twilight Saga without getting too spoilery?

Is this book ok for adults to read? It's not too teenagey? It has got a HUGE adult fanbase, so I think you may like it!

So...I'm about halfway through Twilight and I just can't seem to get into the story. I was really into it and thought it had great potential when I first started reading but now it's moving too slow for my taste...plus Bella's really annoying me. Does it eventually pick up? Are the rest of the books as slow to get going as the first one? I know I need to give it a chance and finish it but I'm really struggling...
(Sorry, I know some of you love the Twilight saga but I guess it's just not for everyone).

All I can say is that someone gave me the book to read because she loves reading... (and I got her into Buffy)... I am not much of a reader if its not comic books. I had to come up with some stipulations about making her watch Star Wars if I read Twilight... and damn, I am loving it. I now own the second book (without finishing the first one yet). Its keeping my attention... which says a lot for someone who can honestly say the only book I ever read... was the Serenity novelization.

I think these books were amazing.... 2 of my best friends read it and loved it... it took me awhile to get started on reading them because im not that big of a reader at all, but when i picked up the book I didn't put it down the whole day! "twilight" was amazing it was really good, the main characters Bella & Edward are so romantical I love it Right now i'm reading "New Moon" and its even better, it's really emotional... so if ur a tear jerker get reading to cry like I did.. haha
