What do we all think of the scale change?

I've got so little figures from the new series last year I don't feel too concerned about the scale change.
Ever since the classics I stopped collecting new Who as much as I did. Got an odd figure now and then but prime interest was in the classic line.
So with the change, for me it seems like I won't be bothering with new who at now.

What do we all think of the scale change? Leading to the question, WHAT scale change??? They can't get any smaller, so what's up?

OMG they ARE getting smaller. Sorry, no. I thought for sure you meant they'd be 7" size.
I'm not a Star Wars collector, I've never been a fan of tiny figures. Detail and artistry is lost...or at least become too small to see! No thanks. I'm glad I just ordered a few figures I'd skipped over, because the good 5" size will be the last Who figures I'll be collecting.
Myself, I prefer 7" figures like the Battlestar Galactica figures were, or 6" like the Buffy figures were. The Doctor Who figures at 5" were almost too small to begin with - detail was lost, good eyesight was required, etc. For me, a reduction from 5" to 3.75" means I won't be getting any more.

I'm still in denial that we will get the new companion (refusing to give her a name til we actually know what she's called for real!) in the current scale. Just seems mean if they don't do an exclusive or something.
I've alaways liked the HP and Golden Compass figures they made in that scale, and the Doc looks similar in terms of articulation. We'll see, don't really think these will save the line especially as in price terms they won't be any cheaper. Maybe more accessories but other than a sonic screwdriver what do you need the Doctor to come with? Multiple interchangeable outfits for special occasions? That's probably just me then :S

First photos from UK Toy Fair showing the 3.75" Clara, Weeping Angel and the new Cyberman, and a Dalek Hoverbout. They look good (although Clara's hands look a bit big) and vehicles and the like are a smart addition taking advantage of the new scale. Also some additions to the classic range with more Daleks and "iconic scene" diorama sets. And something called "MashEms" which appear to be squeezy monster head balls. And Character Building news as well. Still not keen, though... Does anybody around here have some Hydrospan?

The Clara could easily be a 5" scale figure just glancing at it, if not for the hideous bag accessory. I love the new cyberman design, just hope they decide to make those two in the 'classic' scale.

Kinda like the look of the playsets. I know cardboard won't last the ages, but it will certainly make for a cool display. Not sure where I would actually be able to display all 4 sets together...hmmmm.

So I just got into Dr who I love it. I bought a Jack Harkness figure when I first watched a few eps of Torchwood when they used to show it in Australia back in the day. I can't for the life of me find where I put it though and it's driving me crazy. I picked up four of the bust and hopefully will get more soon. As much as I would love too, I really fighting with all my wil power to not buy any more of the figures. There would just be way to many to collect, even if I just get the ones I really want. So I think I'll just stick to the bust and save on space and money. Is there a list of busts they have and or are planning on making?

Regarding the busts, those are the ones they've released so far:
11th Doctor (all 3 variants) 10th Doctor (all 3 variants) 4th Doctor 3rd Doctor Weeping Angel Amy Pond Jack Harkness Cyberman (2 variants out of 3)
And the busts they suppose to release at some point:
1st Doctor 5th Doctor 8th Doctor Leela Dalek (2 Variants - Gray and Gold) Cyberman (Stealth Cyberman Variant)
Regarding that 11th Doctor Statue you've pre-ordered, the first one in that wave was the 2nd Doctor which been released quite some time ago. But for some reason they keep pushing back the release of the 11th.

Cool thanks Lior, I really hope they make Sarah Jane and Donna. Well, I gave in and picked up a Sarah Jane figure after watching her spin off because I loved it so much lol. I'll pick up the big Doctor box set and a few others but that's it.
So what's with the scale change with the figures?

I do hope we'd see Sarah Jane, Donna and Rose busts in this line. Though with the slow releases I'd be just happy with the 11 Doctors first. Regarding the new scale, this is the first wave: Basically the new series figures would be exclusively 3.75" while the classic line remains 5". Also there's gonna be a new 5" 11 Doctors Set at some point this year so perhaps you should hold off buying that box set.

Everything from series 7b gonna be in new scale. The last 5" figure from the new series line was Rory.
The 11 Doctors set is indeed 5".
