Looks like Jewel's SG Atlantis character will be plasticized by DST meaning A. The sculpt will be better than a $100 statue would have had and B. that we can have some accurate looking Kaylee figures without face sculpting abilities of our own! This may very well have been posted in an SG:A post but this is the first I'd heard of it.

I'd still want a statue as it's kaylee, but the figure will come in very handy for customs.

Surprisingly she doesn't look bad at all. I can definitely see the potential for some awesome Kaylee customs. I guess DST didn't want to waste the head scan.

Just got my Jewel figure- her outfit works just fine for Kaylee- I'll probly take some green paint to it at some point, but it's good enough for the nonce. The likeness is not bad- definitely better than what we would have gotten if we had waited for a $100 statue of her (though smiling happy Kaylee would have been nice, and I'd have been there pre-ordering it if it were made, don't get me wrong). In any event, I'm really happy with her, and will to try to bust the camera out tomorrow to show some comparison shots of her with the Serenity gang.

If you do make that custom, I'd be interested in seeing how you do it. I want to do the same, but I am too lazy to find photos where Kaylee is wearing an outfit shaped close-enough to the figure's outfit to work. It can't be her sleeveless jumpsuit, obviously, because the sleeves on the figure are flared so there's no way to make them look flat... It has to be a jacket. I *think* she wore a jacket in Serenity, so... Anyway, as you can see I'm about 50% interested in trying to do this too.
Her shoes will be easy to repaint into those red boots from Serenity.
