FM - I totally agree with you - I wish we'd be getting Willow and Kendra this week instead of Angel and Spike. I have kind of had enough of the whole male vamp testosterone contest...I'd love me some wiccany goodness!!! :-) And not just saying that beccause the Willows are new - I'd buy a Willow anyday over any other figure, including the Buffster herself! Willow is my favorite character in the BuffyAngelVerse and I just hope we get a good mix of variants - a long haired version which we've needed for so long (i.e. Season 7 long hair), a Chosen version that can actually sit in front of the Scythe to cast her activation spell, A DWW just begs the Deluxe Treatment (and I still dig my idea of the veins and eyes that go black if dipped in warm water - especially since a lot of people have said they should make her veinless to differentiate her from the standard DWW - like the SDCC Willow!). :-) Orpheus Willow has been one I've wanted for ages, especially since Scullow talked me into parting with her for a Rose & K9 (thanks again Paul!!!) - and I was totally and pleasently surprised at the Halloween Willow!!! She is just amazing. I too am slightly confused as to just why she'd get the Deluxe treatment - but in all seriousness, I don't care, just give me more Willows!!! :-)
I can't wait to see what other variants they have. I'm sure I'll love them no matter what! :-)

My only local comic shop never got them. Suncoast went out of buiness, and Tower had to sell them for $.49 to get rid of them. They are still available at many places online including: Wizarduniverse.com, Time&Space, BCC, BillsBricks, and I'm sure if I searched I could find more. Yes, but the same could be said for the regular figures. Look for Lorne and Wesley (who came out the same week as the first deluxe figures) and you will find them just as often (if not more) and we know that the regular line sells very well...or well enough to please DST.

Yes, you can find the Wesley's and Lornes for $.49 at Tower as well, if you know where to look. We really don't know how well the line is doing at all. All we can do is speculate based on Previews sales lists and whether or not they are still in stock at retailers. If they're sold out, we assume they are doing well, yet there are alot of places that never get them because there is no interest in them. The plain and simple truth is that when the remaining sponsors/exclusive holders lose interest, mainly Time&Space, AFX, BillsBricks, Buffy Magazine, the line will be over. We have lost Suncoast, Cinequest, Tower, and maybe Toyfare. It's all good because we have picked up BB and Buffy Mag, but if their first exclusives (ICM Xander & RD Glory) do not do well, we will lose them too. We can always count on Previews and DST online store as long as we can count on DST, but DSt is only going to risk just so much on them, that is why we get such generic bodies. They are planning on re-using them as much as possible to save on costs to keep the line going. It seems that these recent interviews where they have been dropping these hints about the future of the line may be preparing us for the inevitable, but as long as they can make any profit at all, they are willing to keep trying and willing to take chances on unconventional characters, like Kendra. I do not believe they would have ever agreed to do Kendra if not for the re-use factor. The generic bodies are key to making the line work. If this Kendra sells exceptionally well, they may do her in the regular line, the risk is minimized. People who constantly demand "more detail" in the sculpts need to understand something: The more detailed the sculpt, the higher the cost and the less varients you can get out of it. The higher the cost, the more copies they have to make to break even. The more copies they make, the more figures you have glutting up the store pegs. The more the glut of figures in stores, the less interest the stores have in them. The less interest the stores have, the less they order until they eventually stop carrying them altogether. If we don't support the sponsors, T&S, AFX, BB, Buffy Mag, they will lose interest because no one wants to support a line that is costing them money instead of earning them profits. Hopefully, the next 2 waves will be a big hit and all of this won't matter. If the line makes more money, DSt can spend more on more detailed sculpts, but asking DSt to re-do Cordelia again because you don't like the upcoming ones is not gonna cut it. The first 3 waves of Buffy figures did sell out, Willow, Anya/Tara, Darla/Spike, therefore we are getting 3 more Buffy waves. As far as Angel goes, the last 2 waves, Wes/Lorne, Angel/Fred, have not sold out, only the first wave did (Spike/Darla), so we can only expect one more Angel line. Recently the wesley's, except "Bad Girls" has sold out at DSt and only 2 Lornes are left. When more sell out, then we may get more Angel figures in the regular line. That is why I am always telling people that if you really want a Gunn figure, you should at least pick up the Fred figure. You don't have to if you don't want to but you are helping to get Gunn if you do. Making any sense? Same is true for the playsets. If you want a Magic Box or Hyperion, the best thing you can do is buy the Library playset.

Deluxe Kennedy! She was there at SDCC tonight! And I didn't have a camera. I'm sorry I was so focused on school stuff I needed to finish, because I am trying to remember everything I saw (I got battle damaged and regular Spike/Angel...) There was Red Haired Chosen Willow, White Hair Chosen Willow, Tough love (I think, don't hate me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive), Halloween, Kennedy (didn't love her actually, but happy to get her) and Kendra (they only had the one on display.) Plus Mr Pointy, Book of Darkest MAgics, the same sculpts of Giles/Faith we've already seen. I didn't pick up the Hawaiin Two-pack but I'm going back tomorrow. Does anyone know if School Hard Spike is there somewhere? (Its a madhouse...) (I can't believe I broke important news (ie kennedy)- its a first for me...)

I CAN'T REMEMBER! I was trying to get through the lines while free Willow figures (w/ $60 purchases) were still available, and I was an hour late to be elsewhere. I only had time to glance. I'll be back there with a camera tomorrow, I promise! Just wanted to give the news tonight anyhow...

I think the likeness on those two is quite remarkable. I'm definitely going to buy those.

Interesting.
Surprising, but interesting. I will pose Tara kicking Kennedy's super-poseable azz all over the library (which will probably be hard to do with the long sculpted skirt/dress and all, but it can be a magic azz kicking).
Looking forward to seeing pictures of the Willow variants and Kennedy. I inclined to just grab Chosen Willow (red hair) at the moment, but will wait to see pictures and of course the final product before I reach any conclusions.
And agree with the above. If Kennedy can be made, then surely Gunn, Connor, Harmony, Lindsey and Lilah cannot be too far behind.
Thanks for the news!
Cheers, Haeph.

No pics as yet.
action-figure.com has Hasbro (including Marvel Legends etc) and DC Direct pics.
That's all I've found from SDCC.
Cheers, Haeph.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE (pretend I did that like 40 times) DST. Awesome news. I will buy every one of these figures. EVERY ONE. No matter how fugly they are or aren't. Thank you DST. You made me so happy with this. I will probally have a heart attack once I see pics. I want them all so bad. (and kinda-semi-crap, I just made a Tough Love Willow custom. I can change it easily though. And still, DST will be way better at her) -John

www.figures.com is updating their gallery now. So far they're on 4H, SOTA, McFarlane and NECA. Hopefully they will get to DST soon. www.toynewsi.com has updated with pics of Hasbro's Marvel Legends and Mattel's DC Superheroes (Supergirl variant, Catwoman, Steel, Mogul and Parasite). Cheers, Haeph.
