Hi all,
An odd question and I'm pretty sure of the answer, but couldn't really find anything.
Basically, is River a Slayer?
Is the Firefly Universe the same as the Buffy/Angel Universe and River is the Firefly era's Slayer?
Cheers.

No and no.
They're two different universes completely.
Hope that helped.

It is fun to think that the Joss verse is all related and thet the earth that died in Firefly was hte same Earth that housed the Hellmouth and that the Slayer legecy would still be handed down from generation to generation...but noone has ever said anything that would lead to that conclusion. Still fun to think about though!

Thanks.
I thought it was a "no".
Cheers, Haeph.

Speaking of the Jossverse/Firefly.
Did anybody else think that the Reavers would turn out to be vampires? All through the series I thought it'd be cool 'season-finale' material if the crew boarded a Reaver ship and they discovered that Reavers were mutated Vampires!

I always liked the Reavers just being humans.
I've always found humans scarier than monsters if that makes sense.
I was a little dissapointed in the movie's explanation for the Reavers (genetic tampering of sorts). I preferred the "they got to the edge of space, saw nothing and went insane" thing.
Still, the way they create "new" Reavers is pretty twisted and downplays the genetic tampering element.
While its technically a "no", I like to think of them as a shared universe with River being the current "Slayer" and that for the moment, all demons and vampires were left behind on "Earth that was" (though some "samples" may have been kept by Blue Sun and may be used by the Alliance in their experiments and such).
Cheers, Haeph.
