There's a Firefly/Serenity figure thread over at Diamond's partner site, Art Asylum, that I hope everyone may check out: 70.85.44.56/forum/index.php?showtopic=729If Diamond can become aware of the fan base, we can drive them to make more figures.

I finally got a couple of these this week- Malcolm Reynolds and Mercenary Jayne.
If this is the standard that DST has set for this line, it's best that they not make the rest of the crew at all. These are terrible figures. Frozen joints and bad paint jobs all around.

If Diamond were to hire Plan B to sculpt Firefly figures in the Stargate scale of 7", they'd likely do a better job with the detail.
I am hopeful that it may be that they intentionally let this line go because they want a more favorable contract. As I noted earlier, they did not have a second wave of Serenity figures ready to be released when the DVDs came out, which means that they abandoned the line WELL BEFORE the film even came out.
That is why it would not surprise me if they start a Firefly line under better terms.
And if they do, maybe they can do a much better job, using the Plan B 7" sculptors rather than the Buffy 5" sculptors.

Just an update for the record:
Ask Diamond Jan 7, 2006:
23. Is the Serenity line dead forever?
I think all the Browncoats know better than to say dead forever.

I regret to say it, but it appears that Diamond has no new Firefly or Serenity figures on display at Toy Fair (judging by the various websites that cover that trade show). Although there could still be an announcement at the upcoming Comic Con even if nothing is said at Toy Fair, it appears that Diamond doesn't have the same enthusiasm for the property that Inkworks, Titan Books, HotTopic, and Dark Horse have (to name but a few of the companies that are continuing to introduce Firefly and Serenity products).
Why Diamond doesn't share their excitement is a mystery to me.
