Tonight we have an early review of the newest wave of Buffy Deluxe (i.e. super articulated) action figures from Diamond Select Toys. This third series includes Chosen Willow, Chosen Kennedy, Becoming Kendra and the chase White Witch Willow. These should be hitting stores in the next 2 - 3 weeks tops, but you can check them out now at the usual: www.mwctoys.com And Thursday comes ANOTHER Buffy related review - the PF Spike! It's mid-week, so that means there's a Quick Stop update as well. This week I have an interview with the exceptional prototype painter Edward Wires. Thanks for reading! Michael MWC

Very nice review, thank you. Kendra came out nicer than expected. Kennedy looks like the proto to me and I've always liked the proto. I know a lot of people will be complaining about these (because thats just how we do things around here) but I think this is a great looking set. Cant wait to get them. I will probably be getting doubles of both Kendra and Kennedy to display with and without jackets.

Great review, as always! On one hand I'm happy there is no "Chosen Faith" syndrome this time - they look pretty good and close to the prototypes. But on the other hand, I'm really concerned with the problematic joints - since these are "Deluxe" I'd expect them to actually move. Guess I'm gonna need to wait and judge these myself when they arrive. Thanks for the review, Michael. Edit: Just noticed that both Willows have one open hand and one fist...why didn't DST bother to give them both open hands for accurate display?

Thanks for the review! Maybe I'm mistaken, but didn't DST say Kennedy wouldn't come with a jacket?

They lied. Or more likely, changed their mind.
Everything below the head is reused for all the figures, including the hands, as I mentioned that in the review.

Oh, I love that we get these reviews. I have to get doubles on those Willows and Kennedy so I can open them. My Willows are going to be so naughty... I love that we get tons of candles with Willow, and the machete with Kennedy. That's pretty cool, too!

Thanks for the amazing review. I love them all and I cannot wait until next month to get them. They are going to look amazing next to the other Deluxe figures that I have. I love Kendra's package, the picture is perfect. Although what does the back of the package look like, do they have the other Willow Variant figures listed on the back?? It is kind of odd that Kennedy doesn't come with a jacket, I really wish that they would've kept it.

There's a picture of Kennedy wearing the jacket, in the review. I believe that she is wearing Kendras Jacket

There's a picture of Kennedy wearing the jacket, in the review. I believe that she is wearing Kendras Jacket Well, it's the same jacket with both figures - and same jacketed arms - but it is her own. Each figure is photographed with all their accessories, and no one elses.

They cant have the same jacketed arms since they've got different skin tones.
Thanks so much again, I really love your reviews and wont be able to stop looking at the pictures until I get them in my hands.

I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised with Kendra. When I saw the prototype and convention pictures I really didn't see the likeness. She turned out downright beautiful and does total justice to Bianca Lawson appearance. I'll definitely be picking her up.
Chosen Willow had the big eyes, but we saw that coming anyway. I planned on getting two, one for hair on White Witch Willow to complete my Chosen display and one to have. Looking at it though, I think I'll just buy one to scalp.
I was lukewarm about buying the Kennedy figure since I'm not a big Kennedy fan, and seeing how she turned out, I think I'll pass as well.

Nice review. I'm so looking forward to these; they look pretty good to me. Kendra in particular looks much better than expected.

I didn't mention is first time, but I too really like Kendra. I never had any intentions of getting her, but she really turned out nicely! I also like the character a bit more than I did before, but the figure is really a thing of beauty. I might go pick one up.

I think the only one I want from this line is White With Willow. I'm kid of low on money, and I think she has the best likeness. Not to mention she will look AMAZING with my chosen Xander and Buffy. I wish I would have got the original White witch Willow from MAC, but I really do think Alyson looks mega sexy with white hair.

They cant have the same jacketed arms since they've got different skin tones. Thanks so much again, I really love your reviews and wont be able to stop looking at the pictures until I get them in my hands. The are the same arms. The paint is different of course, but they are the same arms. Likewise Willow's arms - they are the bare arms simply painted.
