Hmm, meh.
Its nice, though it looks a little more faker then I remember. A little varnish (erm, is that the word?) to give it more of a wood look rather then plastic would be a nice step. A picture of Kendra holding it would be neat on that little card with the display case. Though Mr. Pointy would be something Id hang on the wall.

I like it. I know it is a prototype, but it looks way cartoony. -John

the thing that bugs me about this is there maken new props and replicas but what about the old ones, like anyanka amulet, or spikes amulet?

I like it that they are deciding to do this prop, as it was very important on the show. I agree that it does look a little cartoony, hopefully it will look better as time goes on. However I don't understand what is going on with the rest of the props either. I really want all of these, as well as Buffy's High School Diploma and anything else that was originally planned.

Honestly I think it's a lot of money. It's pretty cool but I can go into my yard find a squiggly branch and call it Mr. Pointy for free.

I now its a prototype image and all that but... *big inhalation*
OMFG! What are DST doing? Puppet Spike is one debacle and now this. What should be an iconic piece of slayer lore right up there with the (poorly executed and somewhat shabby) scythe.
The first stake from Palisades was insultingly poor quality and this thing looks like a doggy doo.
Makes me wonder if we are hitting an "end of the line churn out all the rubbish we can" or "let's jump on the band wagon" phase.
And that is a heck of a lot of cash for what looks like plastic.

The BCC now has it up for preorder for $59.99 and it is due out October of this year. I wonder if they will really have it by then. It would actually be nice to see it by then, I really want another prop to own soon. I can't wait to see more pictures of it, I'm hoping that it actually looks better in person as this was one prop that I really wanted.

I think that's just an digital artist's rendering, to give buyers an idea of how it may look. The new photos of it from SDCC make it look quite a bit better than this.

www.tvmerch.com has an estimated release date of Dec/Jan. I don't see it coming out in October as the Urn Of Osiris isn't even supposed to come out intil November.
