Over all, this is a nice prop, but it is far from perfect. I found several problems with my Scythe.... I may have been a little picky here, but I was really hoping the quality of this piece would have been a little better! I do think it's cool to have the Scythe, and I think it will look great on my wall! I wish I could say I'm surprised by the Scythe's flaws, but almost all the FactoryX Buffy products are deeply flawed. The Sword of Angelus looks nothing like the real prop when you compare directly; the Slayer's Stake is made of a lightweight, low-quality wood; the Orb doesn't fit properly in its box, and the box is made of low-quality wood; the Vampyr Book's paint is inaccurate and poorly applied. Hopefully, quality under LMTD by CAS will be much better if they continue the line--the few products by them which I've seen in person are perfect. I can't judge based on the pictures--does the size look accurate to you? The light weight has me worried that they might have downsized it slightly, which would be a real disappointment...

This is just fantastic. I wish that I had the money to buy it, but being a teenager I just don't have the money.

It's unfair. They do cost alot of money. Around £300 for the Scythe. I wish I could get it. Was there ever a competition here on the board for one? Just curious.

Sorry, I thought that it was £300 or near enough to that. It's still way too much for me though.

No it was cheaper in the US. It was £300 over in the UK, which is why I didn't get it. It looks great but as you have said from the pictures there are flaws and the first thing I noticed was that the red part looks really plastic, is it not meant to be steel?

Was there ever a competition here on the board for one? Just curious. £300? FPI had them for £189 plus free shipping! And as for ordering it from the US, I looked into that due to FPI cost and well HMI Custom's will not let this sucker into the country as a single importer, you need to be a company and have all the necessary paper work completed. By all means try but I think Custom's may seize it as an offensive weapon and destroy it. The nice lady at HMI Custom's and Excise took all my details before telling me no.

At the very least someone ought to be able to cut the stake off with a hacksaw where it meets the base to get around your country's ban on import of double-sided weapons, *if* the stake won't screw or pull out. Then you could reattach it with either wood glue or a double- threaded screw. But you'll probably have a hard time finding anyone willing to get a $300 item and cut it up for you...

well from karens pics, you can see where the blade pushes into the handle, theres a gap where it hasnt been pushed in properly...so....in theory with a bit of work you should be able to pull it out and just recieve the handle/stake and the blade seperately, then just pop it back together after? wayne

One again we can count on Karen for the first images! Thanks Karen! The Scythe looks really cool and I wish I could get me one. But I must say, these small flaws are quite disappointing considering that it took them ages to released this prop.

I have to say for the sheer cost of this prop it's really disappointing to have such noticeable flaws. Such a shame.

OK, sure there seem to be some small flaws, but now I'm even more excited for this thing. God, I can't wait for mine to arrive. I don't normal use the word "sexy" to describe inanimate objects, but that's the only word I can come up with to describe this.
