Yeah, it is a shame. This is a must have prop for me though, so I'm going to buy it. I'm 99% sure that I'm going to have it custom painted. I will post pictures once it's complete.

I'll probably buy the book within the next couple weeks and then have it shipped directly to the painter. It might be a bit longer though. We'll see. I'm thinking 2 months at longest before I have some pics for you guys =)

I don't think the book is worth It's asking price... For that price they should have made it like a diary or something.. Or even monster pages.. That would have been worth the money if you ask me

That would have been worth the money if you ask me The fact that its a keepsake holder does detract a little from the value for me. Especially with the lame suggestion of "holding your Buffy prop jewelry" (since there's only one so far). Of couse, I do really like the prop as it is, plus, the inside turned out to be just big enough to hold my Buffy and Angel comics. I posted some pictures of it on my website when I got it. Check it out if you want.

Just a quick update on the custom Vampyr book...I have purchased one, and the painter will have it in his hands shortly. I look forward to posting pics of the finished piece...hopefully before the end of the month. It should be worth the wait.

if you're using acrylic paints just paint it the rust color (let it dry), water down some black paint and brush it on and rub it off with a clean rag.. I'm sure there are more detailed instructions somewhere on the web for creating the old as dirt look, but that's the gist.
