After I talked to our representative from Sideshow Toys yesterday she decided to double check her information about the hands for the 12" Spike figure. She spoke directly to the individual who designed the Spike figure and this is what she was told... Spike will come with two sets of hands that are interchangable. One will be covered by gloves that are not removable. The other set is just regular hands. The Spike figure that was limited to 500 will come with two sets of hands that are interchangable. One set will be regular hands, the other set will be the black nail polish hands. Well, that's all I've got. Karen

With all the excitement I thought it would be more than just a layer of black paint that can be added by anyone. Pfft. Though, thanks for the info.

Thanks for getting the info I have a question though... what exactly do you mean by regular hands? It sounds like the 500 edition will not have gloved hands, since you mentioned gloved hands separately when you described the regular edition. It also sounds like from the description that there are 3 types of hands: regular, gloved, and with nail polish.

This is from like November... The first 500 Spike figures ordered directly from Sideshow would come with an extra set of hands: no gloves, just flesh-hands with Spike's signature black nail polish. It's a sort of bonus for placing your preorder from Sideshow directly. Those first 500 are already reserved though... actually it's been quite a while... All the figures (including those first 500) will have the "gloved" hands. Spike is based on the episode "What's My Line?" part 2, when he had to take the dagger from the Cross of DuLac and stab Dru and Angel's hands. I personally think Sideshow should have made it the other way around. Regular hands on all the 12" Spike figures, and the first 500 with a bonus set of gloved hands. Ah well... BTW the Sideshow Faith 12" figure has a bonus as well. Whatever number it is (500?) will come with the Slayer Scythe...
