Do everyone remember the computer scans pictures of unpainted prototype M.A.C. Wesley and Darla without hair? It only allowed M.A.C. members can view on M.A.C. website for members only. I swear seen them before on somewhere website long time ago. I can't remember what name of website. If everyone who been M.A.C. members remember them or save the pictures before. Then please post.

I know the pictures that you are talking about. They used to be available to Collectible Society members on the M.A.C site, where you could log in and see the different stages of progress on a particular figure. Unfortunately, I didn't save any of the pictures.

I really like the DST Wesley figures, but I must admit that the MAC unpainted prototype Wesley looks really good also. It didn't look that good on official pic of MAC Wesley. It's curious how the figures look better unpainted.

Yeah, paint jobs are KEY to getting a good likeness. I remember MAC Wesley looking like a Ken doll when he was finished.

Okay, I can't see the pics for some reason...did they get blocked or something? If so, could someone send them to me? And on the same topic, Lior - do you have any of the other MAC pics? I believe someone had said the original Series II Buffy had totally different pants, and such - I'd LOVE to see any variations that never made it to production if you have them! :-)
Thanks is advance either way! :-) Newt

Notes about original figures (I'll have to hunt the pics down, I posted them in the very early days of this board) Buffy series 1: the Buffy originally had hair exactly like season 2 short hair Buffy, but Fox wanted everyone with a season 1 look so it was switched to the one we have now with no bangs. Fox then wanted her Season 1 bangs added on there, so they were addded along with her cross necklace that also wasn't there originally. Another idea was to have Buffy from 'I Robot" with Moloch's head as an accesory. Mac originally wanted to do Angel without a shirt so they could incorporate his tattoo, but they felt the trenchcoat was more important to the charactr than the tattoo. The jacket was actually modeled using a MAC employees trenchcoat as he wore it. Series 2: Originally, Series 2 Buffy and its exclusive, the short haired Buffy, had different bodies. The original (series 2) was to have the purple top and black pants. Oz was originally drawn to have an overshirt, but it was nixed. Oz also had a completely different jean sculpt, it was a lot baggier (and personally I liked it better) A "glasses variant" for Giles was sculpted, however they could not figure a way to make it look good, so it wasn't used. Series 3: Xander originally had a slicked back hairdo to match his clothes from Dead Mans Party, but it was nixed for the longer hair. Cordelia was originally to be in a leapord print mini skirt, but that didn't happen. Cheerleader Cordelia's original mold "broke" so that is why we got a repainted regular Cordelia as Cheer Cordy. Series 4: Bunny Anya was slated to part of this wave but it ended up just kind of being a stand-alone exclusive. Originally, the pink spot on her chest wasn't there and after fan-reaction, it was added. Drusilla was the teams first full-body scan. Series 5: Series 5 originally consisted of Riley, Tara, and Willow, but Riley was moved to "series 6" and Anya was thrown in with Tara and Willow. Anyas sculpt has remained the same from when MAC sculpted it. Season 5 Willow, Dark Willow, and Vampire Willow were all original MAC sculpts. The variations wear all created by modifying those scupts. The original WWWillow (without articulation) was created to get the Willow sculpt and scythe out there. Due to production costs, it was produced using the same molds as prototypes (hence no articulation). White Witch Willow comes with an exclusive stone base that is actually an edited series 1 base with some stones cut off. Tara was never completely sculpted, however her scan was the one Diamond used to make their Tara. Series 6 was to include: DHoffryn, Riley, The Judge, Adam, and Fyarl Giles. Of those, DHoffryn, Riley, Adam, and Giles were all scultped to completion. DHoffryn was released by Diamond. The Adam sculpt was never approved, and therefore has yet to be released. The Judge was never sculpted. Fyarl Giles was redone by Diamond. MAC cancelled their X-Files line, then waited months and months after preorders and waiting to suddenly cancel the Buffy/Angel lines, then closed their forums when we bitched, and then a mommy and daddy came together and BTVSFigs was born.

Flobbster - thanks for the awesome info!!! I've seen just a few of the variants you mentioned - if you or anyone can find pics representing these I'd LOVE to see them!!! And the story of everything is great!!!! I really wish there was someway to let DST know how much we all appreciate them and how grateful we are for what they did to resurrect the line. I know that we can all be extremely picky and vocal about certain things, but despite any of this the underlying emotion is one of extreme gratitude for saving our beloved line - and expanding it beyond our wildest dreams!!!! I remember just hoping I'd someday get the Willow figures when Moore nosedived - and that I'd be happy if some miracle happened and DWW Willow could somehow be mine! :-) Now, here we are with near one hundred figures, and most of them excellent, and what am I drooling for? Yep, The deluxe WILLOWS slated for next May!!!! DST has come almost full circle (that's not to say there's nothing left to do - with the BTVS and Angel universes, there's still a near infinite variety of figures, accessories, and playsets to do! :-) I hope everything stays on track and that the lines do well for DST and we get everything from thru the Willows and more (that's MORE, not MOORE <grin> - yes, the paranoid part of me fears history repeating,or rather just the bad part of it repeating!) - these look to be the best Willows - indeed, some of the best figures ever!!!
Go DST!!!! :-)

I made a web site a few days after MAC announced that they were canceling the BUffy line. It had EVERY production photo they posted of their Buffy line. I can't remember the link to the site but every now and then one of the members here posts a link to it. I know you can find it through Yahoo too.

Wow! Those pics are really cool. I was a member, but I don't remember seeing the Riley, Adam and "nude" figures of Anya and Willow.
I would love to see that Riley, Adam and Fyarl Giles, but DST is pretty much abandoning the original MAC style. I like the new "waiting for a bus" sculpts, but MAC's were so much more dynamic even though the articulation messed up the clean lines of the sculpts.

Oh my god. I had never seen the actual Adam prototype! It is so upsetting to know that figure was about to be released and never became part of our " reality "...:-( I really wish DST would take over that wave an dmake these. But we already got D'Hoffryn and Giles is on his way, so maybe with some luck, we'll getb a Riley/Adam 2-pack...
