OMG Afer I can't believe you gave it 4 out of 10! I absolutely loved it but then again everybody does have differing opinions. Just every part of this episode is great, the comedy, the tears (and there were some) the fun. It was good to see that the Good guys finally got cut a break and had nice time which was something they could remember their time at good ol SHS as and not all death. A 9. (Unfortunately the Hellhounds were more comical that scary.)

I'm with abc on this one too. A beautiful episode from beginning to end. Buffy's realization that she was really a part of all the kids lives in high school, sniff.
This one makes my allergies act up terribly.

I really like this episode. It's so well done, especially the Buffy/Angel break up scene. It's so painful to watch Buffy's breakdown with Willow afterwards. I agree with everyone else aswell, when I say that It's good to see the kids of Sunnydale High and the Scoobies having a good time. It was done really well with the perfect balance of humour, emotion and some light hearted fun.
It's also good to see Cordelia and Xander interacting again without being at each other's throats. It was so sweet of him for covering for her and paying for her dress. It makes me wonder whether they would have eventually gotten back together had Cordelia not left for LA in the finale.
The Class Protector award is a really cool idea, It was done just right in that it didn't turn out at all cheesy. Also Angel showing up at the end to give Buffy one last dance... that causes the tears to well up behind my eyes. Very heartbreaking.
My only quibble with the episode is the hell hounds. Any episode with werewolfs, or beasts like that are aweful in my opinion. They aren't scary, they just look silly. It's so embarassing to watch episode with them in.
But overall I give this episode a 9/10.

Yea this is one of my favourites too. I think its awesome how action pakced this episode is, and how much drama is involved too. You have the hellhounds, The prom itself, Buffy and angel breaking up, and the whole happy moment thing. I thought it was a great episode, with right amounts of everything incorporated into it. It is a bit of a tearjerker too, and i think it sets us up well for Graduation Day. I also like buffys snappy quirks, and the dialogue is very sharp.
Overall- 9/10

Definately one of my favourites. I loved everything in it, Buffy and Angels breakup is so touching. I found it really interesting that it was joyce who told him to break up with her, I feel it's sort of out of character but i guess she was only trying to stop her daughter getting hurt all the time. Also, what Xander done for Cordelia was really nice. I felt that it was really good of Buffy to make sure the whole gang and the students in her year had a perfect night, and it was great that in the end she also had a perfect night. The class protector award was great, it just showed that the students had been greatful for all that she had done, and that she really made a difference. And when Angel came in at the end to give Buffy one last dance i think it was perfect, amazing episode the whole way through
Overall, I give this episode 8/10

I love this episode. It is one of those I can watch over and over again (actually, now that I think about it, I can do that with any episode). Anyway, loved the last dance. Everyone is so perfect in this episode. But when I see Xander and Cordelia and he tells her she looks good I get really angry. I guess its just because I like to see the gang happy and together and I want Xander and Cordelia to be together. And I think about how they won't ever see each other again after graduation and then he looses an eye and she dies. Joss seems to hate his characters. Also, this is the only episode that my mother cried over. But I think it was because of the scene when Wild Horses was playing. She can't handle slow sad songs. She is kind of emotionally unstable. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

It’s a good episode; very emotional and well written, but not one of my favorites. I guess it’s because I really hated the whole Buffy/Angel break up when I first saw it and a bit of the bitterness still remains.
Also, IMO, the hell hounds were not such an original idea. Carry-like massacre could’ve been cooler.
So I rank it 7/10.

The only problem with a Carrie-esque murder is that only a couple of episodes back we had someone we though was going to kill everyone in the school and so a school killer would have been too repetitive. I also think it was important to give them at leats one good memory of school so they could relax before the impending battle.

I liked the episode, well, the prom part anyways...
I agree, a Carrie-type episode would of been to much, since we just had 'lets murder the kids' already. The ending was really sweet, and everyone had a good ending. And we got some more funny Anyaness^^
I thought it was just really sweet to have Buffy be given the class protecter award, and just for her to know everyone cared.

Maybe, but I think a crazed telekinetic girl who’s interested in ruining the prom because somebody broke up with her recently (Buffy/Angel break up resemblance), would’ve been cooler.

True, that would of been cool, but it kind of reminds me of Out of Sight out of Mind with Marci... I don't know why, but the idea of her getting revenge for what Cordelia and others did to her... And, I guess they would of had to tone it down and not actually kill everyone... You know, head slicing records, water and electrisity, cause the students were kind of neede for the next episode.

Also if a lot of them would have been killed while Buffy was there her Class Protector award would sort of been redundant.
