This was a good episode although , i thought there could have been more of a better storyline for Joyce , i really liked how Buffy acts that there is a new person in her mums life . I also like Xanders ' What kind of a monster is he ' line.
5/10

Definitely best filler episodes in season 2. First of all it reminds us what might happen if a slayer isn’t careful enough with her superhuman strength (though this time it was “what if” she kill a human but in next season we get to see exactly what if…).
Also, even though the metaphor was crystal clear, the entire idea of a robot is very cool. And it seems they used it again in season 6 with Warren…who, by the way if you think about it, is pretty much like the human Ted was. If he never tried to go against Buffy he might have grown to be a bitter man who builds a better version of himself to get the one he “loved” back.

one of my favourite season two episodes. i feel that in the earlier seasons they kept to real life situations and added the supernatural stuff (daughter who is jealous that her mum has a new man, thinking that her mum has forgotten about her and her dad). See, pretty normal stuff. But of course, only buffy can get a new male role who is actually an evil robot. i thought the character of ted was really interesting, he was one of those too friendly people who everybody likes but YOU just cant stand, i thinnk we all know how that feels. I also feel that it is an important episode for joyce, i mean it is her first episode where she isn't JUST seen as "buffy's mum" and that she does have her own life too. Xander was hilarous the whole way too and at the end when Giles and Jenny are kissing and buffy says something like "do i have to chap when i walk into a room from now on", i know that they aren't her exact words but it is something along the lines of that.
Overall, i give this episode 8/10
Oh, and like afer mentioned, RIP John Ritter

I really didn't expect ot to be so popular. I have asked other Buffy fans and they don't seem to enjoy this epsiode.

First of all, John Ritter just did a phenonomal job here. Bravo.
I have to say I have a love/hate relationship with Joyce at times. While I understand she was under the influence of a "chemical" she just has the worst parenting skills ever.
Not listening to her child who is claiming abuse by the boyfriend, then informing Buffy that men aren't lining up for single parent women. Nice Joyce.
Its nice to see Buffy take responsibility for her own actions and see that emotion placed out so nicely by SMG.
Loved the connection you made with Warren LK. I always look forward to your thoughts about the episodes.
