Another wicked Episode. The star of the show in this has to be Willow. Xander is also cool as an army guy but buffy is plain annoying. 9 out of 10

i too didn't like SMG's acting in this episode, but Alyson Hannigan really shined. The plot was funny and there were some great one liners! 9/10

Bad writers! Bad research on using Janus in the spell! I suspect they chose him because of the 2 faces, so they could have them represent order and chaos, although the chaos side just looks like he's getting his teeth cleaned.
Since Buffy's accent is not near as horrible as Angel's Irish accent we will pretend it did not happen.
I giggle every time that Spike assembled a posse of kid mini demons. Ha! His own widdle army.

A really nice episode. I liked the idea of people turning into their costumes. I don’t know the entire myth of Janus, so I’m not sure how off the writer got…hey Raven, mind to share some of your knowledge with us? I’d like to know what you meant about the bad research comment. I think Sarah acted well but definitely not her best. Alyson was great and so was Anthony. Also, maybe it’s my imagination but Spike really shows stronger emotions to Buffy when he watches that tape. I know James said he was always playing Spike as if he had a thing to Buffy but up till they’ve got involved I would’ve laughed at the thought that Spike inlove with Buffy (and so I did during “Something Blue” ). I’ll easily give this episode 8-9 of 10.

The episode was a little silly with the everyone turnuing into thier costumes but i did like the parts with Willow and Cordelia , those parts were hilarious and SMG played the little scared Victorian Girl , really well .
7/10

Of course, as I love to blather on! Janus was the god of gates, doors, beginnings and endings. The month of January was named for him. His two faces originally represented the sun and the moon. He symbolizes change and transitions such as the progression of past to future, of one condition to another in life. He was a god that was worshipped during harvest time, marriages and birth.

Now that's interesting...and it definitely explains your point. Strange that ME didn't bothered researching it properly. Thanks for expending our common knowledge a bit.

Welcome guys I think they just used Janus because of the two sided face, more menacing on tv.

Surpisingly this misuse (as I call it) of mythology happens more in the Buffyverse. I'll try and remember to comment on them when I rewatch the show.
