He didn't believe she had no clocks in her house, It was setup to be a really lame excuse like that. And then supposed to be romantic when he gave Buffy his watch.
I enjoyed this episode, I had humor, the notorious "If the apocalypse comes, beep me" line. But what I liked most is it setup the problem Buffy struggles with through all seven seasons, being that it is really difficult for her to have a normal social life and do all the things normal girls do. Her sacrafices are a reocurring theme throughout the series.

Also, it’s the first time Buffy didn’t stop Master’s plan from happening. Not the best episode ever, but definitely a good one.

i really enjoyed this episode. it's humourous, sad and also shows giles to be a person at the end and not a robot watcher who does not care. the baddie really makes me laugh especially with his crazy rantings. i give this epsiode an 8 out of 10

I enjoyed this one a great deal. I enjoy the line, "You killed my date!" as much as "If the apocalypse comes, beep me". I still laugh after seeing it. I really enjoyed the way that the audience too, was fooled into thinking the scary preaching vamp was the annointed one, and then the viewer is shocked to realize that the annointed is a child. I was so shocked I was in disbelief the first time I saw it. RK

I never liked this one, Owen was really irritating: the whole time I was waiting for him to either vamp out or die.
4/10

Every time I see that episode I cringe at that part where Willow and Buffy say "Boys" at the same time...it drives me insane. Aside from that, the episode is kinda bland until the end when Buffy grows and almost stops being her season 1 self.

I just rewatched this episode today, i think the episode itself takes a bit to get into - the first half is deathly boring. Though I really like it when they get going around the funeral home: the whole time I was chanting - "Kill the psycho!" The brief appearence of Angel in this episode was terrible; at the point in the series, David really needed to get some acting lessons. I didn't really like Owen either, he got really annoying after a while. One of my favourite parts of the episode, was where the insane vamp slid across the table and into the fire - Ok, it was a tad bit predictable; but hey, I loved it! I liked the ending of the episode, it really was a good twist in the storyline!!!
My rating: 7/10

This episode was fairly weak. I enjoyed the character development (Xander, Buffy, and Willow's love-lives are all highlighted), but I felt the plot was fairly weak. I wanted to like Owen, but by the end, I couldn't wait for him to disappear. Meh. Did Not Like It
