Buffy from the first issue ' Long Way From Home. ' " Sssstupid human, I am no Vampire. You think I fear the cross? " " Might wanna start. " I'm sorry there are no in progress pictures. I'm having big problems with my camera and had to borrow a friends to take these pictures. Recipe: Dst Buffy deluxe head and torso, metal gear legs,Buffy's belt etc were scavenged from my son's toy box, utility belts etc from various action figures. I sculpted over all joins, added definition to her arms and thighs, ponytail. The creature is an old Star Wars beastie that again I was allowed to take apart ( very generous kids ) I added the horns, repainted him, added saliva and the glowing green blood and pierced a hole in his head for the cross. His mouth is glued in place to make a platform for Buffy to stand on. I left the neck ring on him because I think it gives the piece a sort of statue like appearance. Attachments:

What I love about your work is that you always create such an amazing base to go with the custom itself ! You always have the idea and the right pieces/parts to make them and it's wonderfull ! My only critic would be that Buffy's arms are to muscular, but that's a detail and as it's from a comic it's ok.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback guys - I really appreciate your comments and suggestions. I was worrying that my work was getting a bit stale lately ( I've not had as many comments for Urkonn and some of the others so I got a bit disheartened .) I totally agree with what you say about Buffy's muscular arms Mango. I kind of wanted her to look like she'd aged a bit after season 7 and maybe the stress of leading the slayer army was taking its toll on her, so much so that she's training harder to keep herself at a level above the others? I think I can just about get away with it but sometimes you only notice these things after you've finished the piece and looked at it for a while. I am also really lucky to have two incredible kids that let me raid their old toy boxes for fodder so I can usually find the right parts for ideas quite quickly. Thanks again for being so generous about my work.

It's so awesome. So "alive", if you know what I mean. I do think that if you had added some sculpt to make the cross "connect" with the monster's head, so it didn't have a empty space, it would have looked even better.

I would most certainly say that your work is NOT stale. You seem to have these great, unusual ideas. I love to see action poses and I love when artists push themselves beyond what they normally do. Complicated poses showcase what you can do with plastic and clay! Anyway, I love this piece. She looks very pleased and confident with killing the beast. I like the colors you used. I don't have kids but i have massive amounts of fodder and I must say that it is quite fun digging around getting just the right parts! So I hear you there! Great piece and keep pushing your talents!

Very nice piece I notice that you say 'my entry for the challenge'. If this was meant for the Season 8/Season 6 challenge it should have been posted in that thread (and not here - you can only post either in the main part of this section, or in the challenge thread, not both). Very nice job though

I think it's hard to see in the pictures but there is actually a spike that comes out from the bottom of the cross. I checked the comic and it is there. I guess it's a quick kill ,she's pulling the cross back out again?

This is great, is that the first evil?, because that creature looks a lot like that being, this statue style figure is awesome, much better than the ideas of Diamond, excellent job, really artistic.

Oh, it's a SW's Rancor head, I think Very cool use of parts. Love it. And I echo everyone else's comments, your custom bases really set your compositions above the crowd! Another awesome work!

Sorry,it's those silly itty, bitty photos I post, makes it hard to see what's going on! And yes, my son tells me it is a Sw Rancor? It's a good job he'd broken it ,otherwise I don't think he would have let me pinch it so easily. Those horns were an addition though!

^^ I assumed everyone clicked on the images like me, so they're huge instead. That way I saw the spike at the end.
Have you checked out photobucket? There you can upload and re-size photos.
