Hey All I havent made a figure in as long as i can remember, due to being so busy at University. But ive finished for summer now and this one has been calling out to me. SO ive started work on it. You could say this is a "sequel" to my 12" Death Scene Gift Buffy statue. I know this isnt the most...practical way to show my work, but ive decided to post the base first and then show the figure in a few days when its completed. The base is made from astro turf (plastic grass) the gravestone was made from wood, textured and painted and the base around the grass is also wood, finished in the same way. I will be showing the finished figure in a day or so. Id love to know what you think of the base. Wayne

Hey All Ive finished sculpting Buffy and shes going to be painted today. I sculpted her coming out of the grave, grabbing the grass in her fists (there will be longer bits of grass coming out of her fists) and i gave her long messy hair. she will also have a cross necklace dangling down from her neck but here she is, id love to know what you guys think Wayne

It's so great to see you customizing again Wayne! I love this piece so far. The idea of using astro turf for the base is very unique and really gives it a realistic feel. Sculpt looks superb. I love Buffy's hair. Can't wait to see this painted!!

Looks great so far!you work quickly - I'd still probably be sculpting at this point ha ha. How did you do the text on the gravestone? Is it painted on, or sculpted/ etched ? Just curious... Buffy's positioning and sculpt look spot on.

Buffy's positioning and sculpt look spot on. thanks guys! Well the gravestone was a bit of a chore. I made the image on photoshop, with a stone texture printed onto paper. (i tried to match it to the episode as much as possible. then iglued the paper onto wood which i cut out. but it looked too flat. so i masked the text off and sprayed with a fleckstone spray paint, which gives a stone texture. then i painted Nearly finished painting her now, will have pics asap Wayne
