I enjoyed it.
I was a little worried at the beginning cause I found it very slow and kinda meh, but it definitely picked up for the second half of the show and left me wanting more with the end.
It seems like the kinda show that is going to get better and better as it gets into it, which can be a problem with Fox shows. Hopefully it gets the chance to find it's audience.

I loved it!
But I think it was more the concept of the show that I loved compared to the actual episode.
I think for the pilot joss could have found a more exciting plot, it seemed more of a mid season filler with the kidnapping thing.
The sets are absolutely bloody incredible though! Very impressed.
My only worry, I dont know how we are going to be fully aligned with the character of Echo because she technically doesnt have a personality of her own. Its gonna be be hard to connect with her and relate to her, whereas instead well be having a new thing each week. the whole thing with the previous abduction and child rape, I originally thought happened to Echo before she joined the Dollhouse and it was jogging some previous memory and really added a new dimension to this character....but it turned out it was just part of one of the personalities they ebued her with, in effect not really having any relevance to the character and was just something for this one off plot.
so yeh, loved it. Great concept, great production design. Only worry is how the character of Echo wil be developed so the audience actually feels some kind of allegiance to her.

I got the impression that she did have some flashbacks of her past that didn't get totally wiped out. I'm sure we will keep seeing her have these parts that didn't get wiped out--Like when she went to that room and saw that woman being wiped. Echo had a memory of this. I'm sure she'll keep snooping around and maybe somehow she'll find out her past and have this split character. Or someone from her real past will see her and try to get her to remember.
As far as being connected--the beginning was ODD. It was hard for me to get past the whole "Faith" character because that is how I see her. I kept waiting for Buffy to show up or for her to go all slayer on that child molester's ass. Anyway, I was connected to the show and I felt bad that she basically gets wiped out at the end of the day and walks around like a zombie....

I loved it. I thought it was really creative, though it was an odd way to open a show.

Have any of you read the recent Rolling Stone article on our Mr. Whedon? He is saying he doesn't want to do television anymore. I guess his experience with Dollhouse was not a positive one. www.rollingstone.com/news/story/25951789/joss_whedon_goes_where_no_tv_man_has_gone_before"In the current issue, Joss Whedon, the George Lucas of television, reveals why working on his triumphant return to the small screen, Dollhouse, has convinced him to abandon TV for good."

I LOVED LOVED IT! I'm really impressed! I gotta admit I wasn't expecting much, but I think this is very promising! I loved it, I'm still in shock, because I expected much much less.

Ooh, thanks for the article. I think the pilot had its good points and its bad points. The good points being Joss' writing and the bad being Fox's input. I got the feeling watching it that you could tell what was Joss', and then in the next scene what was a network decision to make it more average and similiar to other shows. There was a real hot and cold feel to it. Some of the things I liked: Topher - He reminds me of Warren! Real creepy guy, but I guess we'll be surprised by him Eliza - She seemed fairly TRU Calling like in this episode, but I'm fascinated to see how she'll do other personalities. The covert operation - I hope we slowly get more to the story. I'll watch of course - or buy the DVDs when its cancelled.

I thought it was pretty good for a first episode. Usually first eps are kinda draggy 'cause they hafta set up the show. Plus it had one my favorite actors from one of my favorite shows (Reed Diamond- Homicide:Life On the Street) so, Bonus!(for me,at least.lol)
If anyone has ITunes,ITunes has Dollhouse available for $1.99 per ep.

I watched last weeks episode, along with this weeks, and I thought episode 2 was much MUCH better than the first one. The first one dragged a bit. It was a bit undramatic for a pilot episode. I was a bit unsure about it at first, but after seeing episode 2 tonight I am totally into it. I actually got my mom to watch it with me (which is a bit shocking, she usually doesn't like the stuff I like to watch), and she really enjoyed it as well. I can't wait for more

Jess: My Mom and I thought the exact same thing! We were a bit worried after the pilot, but really enjoyed that second episode. Of course, both of us are huge Joss fans so we were rooting for him.

Does anyone find it disturbing that they are recycling the old Wolfram & Hart set? I'd recognize those steps anywhere--after spending hours studying them when I recreated them for one of my pieces. The footage is shot from the other side of the steps compared to the Angel show. It is just bothersome that so much of Joss's stuff is recycled--Eliza, Amy A., Wolfram & Hart, the hotel hallway, etc.... I love the two actresses and it's great to see them in shows I like, but it's just a bit odd I guess.
