I bought "Wolf Hall" by Hillary Mantel for my dad for Christmas. Now I've borrowed it. It's about the life of Thomas Cromwell, from father-beaten blacksmith's boy in Putney to Henry VIII appointing him Lord Chancellor.
If you like historical novels, give this a go. Her writing is really amazing. It's a very intelligent book, and sometimes you're not quite sure who's talking, but it's really fascinating. The characters are so alive. Very interesting characterisation of Thomas himself and people like the King, Anne Boleyn and even a young Jane Seymour.

Ive been reading a fair amount while at uni this term, and have really annoyed myself by reading multiple books on the go, something I hate to do but I just could help myself these past couple of weeks. ;D I started reading Cliver Barker, The Great and Secret Showwhich I finished last night and quite frankly, its spectacular, my favourite book hands down. Ive been an avid Stephen King for years but he has been completely out-trumped by Barker. In between reading that I started Frankenstein and read Charlie Brookers recent book, The Hell Of It All which was absolutely hilarious. I worship the man. Also polished off Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book which was another fantasy classic and I would recommend to EVERYONE. Now all of them are finished I started reading another Neil Gaiman, Anansi Boys which so far is very odd but great and revolves around one of his characters from American Gods which is another amazing read. But now my housemate has just handed me her copy of The Book Thief so no doubt ill be starting that in the next few days. All in all, I've read some brilliant books recently and if anyone has yet to read any Gaiman or Barker, sort your lives out and do so! heh heh.

Finished reading Dracula on Monday, Such a good book but he totally dragged the end out. I then rewatched Coppolas adaptation after finishing it...HORRENDOUS movie. HORRENDOUS. Never have I hated a book adaptation so much.
Im just on the last few pages of re-reading Carrie now.
Stephen King...I love you.

Just finished rereading king's Salem's Lot. Havent read it for about 8 years so it was great rereading it especially after having read Dracula last week. Going to give Girl with a Dragon Tattoo next... my housemate is always raving about it but Im not a huge murder mystery fan. (despite my agatha cristie phase when I was like 11 ) Ill give it a go at least...at least in time to watch the film anyways.
