She looks so good. I love her scupt
How did you get the idea of the protective bubble, it's a great one.
O, I'm so excited to see her done, I have so many questions about the finished custom, but I'll wait and see it.
Good luck with painting the dust effect, you'll do brilliantly, as always.

I was trying to work out how to sculpt the baby head into Darla's belly without it getting messed up or looking like some kind of mutation. I came up with the idea to protect him under clear plastic for that reason. I think it makes him look healthy, safe and glowy. Now that it's painted, he's the one warm spot in a grungy scene, which is exactly what I imagined. I had originally planned to paint over most of the plastic and hide the edges but, once I decided that it made sense as a protective bubble, I showed where the bubble was breaking through the ashes. For the undercoat, I painted Darla in normal colours with her eyes closed. I then dry-brushed the ashes. My first colour scheme didn't work. I had the alley in silvery grey with a red brick wall and Darla's ashes were quite dark. It just didn't look dramatic enough and she just looked like she'd been mud wrestling. I repainted her with light ashes over some dark spots and she looked much better. I then painted the alley floor and wall much darker to give her a contrasting background. I also added some Darla dust fallen around her.

Wow! What an amazing custom! I have always thought this would be an amazing custom since it is such an important moment, but I had no idea how it could be done, but you did it! The sculpting is exquisite, as usual, but adding Connor in his protective bubble, and then painting the dusting effect is so inventive and you pulled it off perfectly. I am highly jealous of Robin for being able to add this to his collection!!

that's a cool idea and it turned out nice. I also like the use of the wall bases turned the other way...i plan to steal that idea...
Fun customs all around thus far. I hope i can finish one of mine in time...

Wow MsBig you have really outdone yourself on Darla and Connor!!!! They are breath-taking! Your concept was so interesting and you executed it with such grace, giving that moment such dignity... what a great great scene! The dusting effect is really great and I like how some has already hit the ground! Amazing joB!!

Kenobi - "Chosen" Dawn: Your Dawn is so adorbale. I really love the use of parts and the way you sculpted Dawn's hair.
Jinxieman - "The Body" Dawn: Adam, I love your Dawn. I like her face repaint and her hair looks amazing!
MsBig - Miracle-Childbirth Darla & Connor: Sasha, great custom! the base is very cool. Very original use of parts and detailed repaint. I would have loved to see her broken down "dusted" a little more and maybe a darker wash.

Sasha, this is a fantatic custom, it was such a good moment on screen, and captured it so well, it's even better than I thought it would be. Thank you so much for making them.
I'm going to show it off to its full potential.

Thanks for the comments. I have added a few more dark patches on Darla and obscured the bubble join some more (which I think looks more subtle). I've also taken photos in more dramatic light (see above).

Okay, I got my Holiday set almost done. I still need to paint Buffy's pants a dark brownish-green color. But I wanted to get these up today...since it's Thanksgiving. Joyce is made from Darla legs and a modified YW Cordy body. I cut the bottom off the torso and used Dawns lower arms. I also sculpted the bottom of the shirt and I added to the neck line so that Joyce wouldn't have to show so much clevage. I then spent the next three hours of my life painting that shirt...but I think it turned out great. Buffy is made from a Vampire buffy body and a Cheerleader Buffy head (that's why the forhead is a little bumppy) I sculpted her hair and the neck tie thing that is part of her shirt. I also repainted Dawns eye makeup to be more netural.

The changes you've made to Dawn make her look even better and Buffy is great.
The detail on Joyce is superb, your effort really shines through, even though the choice of parts make her a bit on the butch side.
A great set though.

Awesome customs, Adam.
First of all, great proportions; each character looks natural and with right hight. The sculpturing is terrific; those little modifications add a lot to the overall looks. And finally, the paintjob is superb as usual.
Way to go! ;D

Nice work on the relative heights of the Summers clan. They look great together.
Lovely job on Buffy's hair. I also like the paint job on Joyce's shirt.
I don't like the mum-shoulder-pads though. I would sand down her shoulders to make her more feminine.

Here's my entry for this month's challenge I decided to make Dawn from "Him". She's from the scene where she first sees RJ. Recipe: Intervention Dawn figure. I sanded down the neck, part of the shirt, and removed her hair. I then sculpted her neck, shirt, hair, and made the sleeves longer. She is on eBay.
