Hey All This was a commission for Becky. And my first set of Supernatural figures Ive used different recipes to other customisers. Ever since watching the show, i knew what head i would use for Dean...Sam, however was a little harder. ive sen many people on here use different recipes for Sam, but i found one that looks pretty realistic Anyways, on with the figures Sam was made using a Sawyer (Lost) Torso, Jack (Lost) Legs, Mr Eko (Lost) Arms and a Kurt Cobain Head! (I know, who would have thought it ^^) Dean was made using Sawyer (Lost) Legs and Arms, Graduation Day Angel Torso with a Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil 4) Head. I gave Sam windswept hair and Dean windswept clothes The base was Mr Eko (Lost) which i modified with more rocks, for Sam to stand on, and also added peg holes for Dean. I repainted the whole things to look like a desert. Heres the reference image i used for the figures, mine are almost identical, apart from Sams gun, which should be facing upwards more, but i didnt want to have to compromise the strength of the arm, by cutting and reshaping it.. Both figures looks alot better in person, ive been unable to take a photo of Dean, that does him justice. In person, hes like a little Jensen Oh yeh, Sam has Wesleys Shotgun and Dean has a modified Leon Shotgun, to look like his sawn off, salt firing one Id love to know what you all think Wayne

I'm out of the words, these are really amazing customs, the likeness of both it's just amazing, Leon works really good, thought that figure is too expensive for use it in a custom, apart from that all is great, the weapons, the base, the sculpt, the paint, and i can go on all day, this is just a master piece.

Wayne These are the best custom representations of Dean and Sam I have seen. You have captured not only the essence of the show but Jensen and Jared's likeness to a tee.
Dean especially looks amazing...the folks at Cinequest should take notice because your custom of Dean is far better than the peice of crap bust that they produced
Dude Once again I am in total Awe of your artistic skills!
Awesome Job!

WOW, how cool, we really need some Supernatural figures.... Dean likeness is the best. You should buy the Dean bust and make a custom out of that.

To be brutally honest, I think the Dean figure is a little stocky. Sure he is shorter and more muscular than Sam, but here hes looking plain out fat. If you make the head (which is a tad too small) bigger, it might balance things out a bit. And while the Sam body is outstanding, the facial features dont match. You should use a Legolas head for Sam.
But hey, its still the best representation of the boys out there (much better than those god awful Cinequest Busts), and if one of these things was for sale, id sure as hell buy it.

Sorry to disagree but i think your completely wrong. Yes, Dean does look a little stock, especially around the shoulders. but his head isnt out of scale with Sams, i checked it alongside photos of the boys together. his clothes are blowing, making his torso look WIDER As for sam, this head is the best head to use for Jared Padalecki, apart from the slightly open mouth, the other facial features are almost exact. Legolas has nothing on this head sculpt, Legolas has none of Jared facial features present in the sculpt And also, your wrong. Dean isnt more muscular than Sam, quite the opposite. I compared photos of both guys (shirtless and with shirts) and even asked the buyer (who has met them) and she agreed. Sam is taller, and more muscular. Dean is shorter, defined, but not as muscular as Sam. I value your opinion, but in this case, i brutally disagree Wayne

Ive met them both myself and can tell you that while Jared is definalty more defined, he is a natural exomorph, which makes him look skinnier. Meanwhile, Jensen is shorter and a natural mesomorph. His muscles are also not as well defined, but in terms of proportonate masss, Jensen is definatly the winner in the muscle area. I dont even know why were agueing about this. You bust clearly reflects Jared looking skinnier.
I also dont think that the head looks the same. You got the hair and skintone down, but the head and features arnt the right shape. The reason i suggested a legolas head is because other customizers have used it for Sam in the past and have been complimented for its accuracy to the likeness.
And Dean's head does look to small. It may be the same exact size as Sam's, but compared to his body he has a bit of a case of pinhead going on. However this might be just attributed to as you siad, his shoulders being too wide.

well, judging by the photos i looked at, my theory is correct. im happy, the buyers happy, so thats all that really matters to me any future figures i make of these boys, i will continue to use these headsculpt.
in my eyes (and i like to think im a good customiser) i cannot see not even a slight likeness in the Legolas head, ive seen other customisers use it, thats why i decided against it
Deans head looks small in the photos, but in person, its fine. I saw Sams likeness in the Kurt head before i even used it and i still see it now. I used a Resident Evil 4 figure of Leon for the Dean head. The Leon figure is massive, like 7 inches, and the head fit fine on that. i stick by my guns. I consider these headsculpts to be the best availible
as for my bust depicting Sam as skinnier....erm thats not true. Sam is wearing an almost skintight shirt, whereas Dean is wearing a loose tshirt and an open shirt, which is blowing
and if thats not good enough, im currently working on a VERY LARGE bust of Dean. A complete head sculpt, from scratch!

These are excellent figures, Wayne. By far the best Supernatural set yet.
Sam is incredible! Pretty much perfect. It's really hard to find a likeness to Jared, and I think you've done it.
Dean's facial likeness is good. The head does look small for the body, though, and the overall impression of the figure is that it's too chunky for Dean. Not just the torso, but the hips, thighs and hands. Having said that, it's still the best Dean I've seen.
They look superb together on that Lost stand. Great use of the Lost parts.

Eh, your probably right. MAybe its just the angle of the photo combines with like you said, Sam wearing tighter cloths.
But im still sticking by my perception that Sam is proportonatly skinnier, just more defines.
Cant wait to see your Dean bust though.
Im working on my own SN action figures right now. Im sure youl tear mine apart when I post pics of them.

I agree with the head situation but it's because the idea of use Leon Kennedy Neca for the custom, i believe the likeness is excellent, but the scale of Leon is weird he's almost eight scale in body but his head is very small, that's the kannon of Resident evil games art, i hope someone find another good likeness for Jensen, since Leon is too expensive and i think a lot of people will want to have this guy, another idea could it be that Mcfarlane will make them, i think that will be excellent, i don't care if they are just like Lost figures but with good likeness.

Yeh the leon figure is crazy expensive i brought the SDCC exclusive a while back for 10 GBP, and used the head in a custom, but the one i got this time cost the buyer something like 17GBP- SECOND HAND! so i made a mould of his head. i can cast as many copies as i like Wayne

You know how much I liked this set! Perfect likeness on both figures. The parts you chose not only work for their body types, but work great for the poses too. The painting on both figures is great. You really see the texture on the clothing, especially the jeans. Love the base too. Great work!
