Evidently there is an article in the new Buffy Magazine about Buffy season 8 and it says something about the possibility of seeing a 6th season of Angel in Comic Book form.
I haven't read the article, but I saw a mention of it on Whedonesque.com, they said:

I would love to see an Angel season 6 comic, I wanna know what happen's to Spike, Angel, and Illyria. But maybe if we somehow get lucky they could put those 3 in Buffy season 8 for a team up.

This would be cool. I'd love to find out what officially happened to Angel, Spike, Gunn and Illyria.

I would love to see an Angel Season 6 in comic form. Really want to know what happened after the alley.
I also hope that Joss does use Angel and Spike in the Buffy Season 8 comic at some point.
In one article I read Joss said that legally Angel, Spike and Illyria can appear in the new Buffy Season 8 comic without a problem but he is shying away from that because he has a huge stable of characters as it is and IDW are the people who revived that franchise - and they are doing a good job with it. He said he doesn't see any reason to rain on their parade - he said he doesn't think that's fair.
I have not seen news on any up and coming Angel comics being released by IDW, the last one I know of is the Angel: Auld Lang Syne (#5) which was released this week. I did hear about a Spike: Shadow Puppets comic at one time but nothing since.

I'm most excited to see what Joss does with Illyria and Fred and to see if what he talked about he would have done with a season 6 on TV realizes itself in the comics. If Willow will come and split Illyria from Fred or return Fred's soul to their body and give Fred the ability to switch into Illyria.

Thats great news. Cant wait to read it. I just hope he doesnt spread himself too thin and the Buffy comic suffers. I know it isnt possible, but I would love to see him write every issue.
And I would love to see him continue on Astonishing X-Men as well...without a doubt, THE BEST X-men comic run ever.

While not official, Joss has had specific guidelines for all of IDW's stuff. I think they've done a good job with the Angel books, and their post season 5 stuff is a lot of fun (if not groundbreaking). Official Joss stuff would be awesome but I'm skeptical it would happen while the massive season 8 project is going for Buffy.

But since he's not writing the entire Season 8 I think he could get Angel season 6 up and running. From what I've understood of what I've read he wouldn't be as hands on with Angel S6 but would give plot lines and turn it over to other writers. But I'm really hoping he writes some of it, if not just the opening and closing arcs.

I think an Angel Season 6 is a more exciting prospect than a Buffy comic. There is so many untold stories left to be told with those characters. Sure, I'd prefer a novel but if handled in the right way, this could be really good.

I want to see more of Gwen, Connor, Anne, and Oz. And I hope Lorne get shown at some point.

i read from an interview with joss yesterday that the serie will be around 12 comics long and will pretty much be what joss had planned for the season 6...
and really can't wait to know what happen to rest of the gang...i really wanna know what's up with gunn as joss himself told us that gunn was dead after the event of not fade away...

While I'm not as eager to see more Angel as I I am to see more Buffy (although I would get them in a heartbeat), I think only 12 issues pales in comparison to the amount planned for Buffy, assuming that the number is true...and that's a big IF. In any case, I would like to see a sixth season of Angel just to see if the "Mad Max" scenario and how Joss envisioned that all working out. Plus (as the old rumors stated) I would love to see a vamp Gunn.
