Both figures are the best versions of the characters so far, IMO.
LOVES IT!

Actually, if I remember Grad Day, Faith *was* smiling at Buffy when she came to kick her butt and make her Angel Kibble. :-) Faith was smiling and saying "Is he dead yet?" and "C'mon, give us a kiss" before the fighting began. Even when she was stabbed, I don't remember her ever looking squint-eyed - Faith is just too bad to look squinty, and I always remember her either sexy amused or sexy tough - never anything else.
Also, while I agree the sculpt (or possibly just the paint) is way off and looks nothing like Faith (I would never be able to pick her out as Faith - I'd think maybe it's ageneric potential or something), I think one reason she may be hard to sculpt is because Faith is so kinetic - always moving, always with an animal like presence about her. I think it's hard to capture that in a static sculpt. I also do not like the Faith or Willows from the 12" line - the face is wrong, but the hair really destroys any sense of the characters. Still, I never thought the Faith from the Angel line looked much like her - until now! And now that sculpt is looking pretty good in comparison to these! :-)
DST - don't get us wrong - we LOVE these new figures and want them desperately, but PLEASE modify the paint Ops before the final release so it looks more like her. We know you guys can do excellent work (even without a scan!) and even if the sculpt isn't perfect, the paint problems pointed out by just a cursory examination of pics of Eliza Dusku show very clearly what's off about that part - which can certainly be corrected before it's a shipping product.
One last comment - what the heck are the jackets made out of? They look awesome - way better than the fake "leather" jackets some figures (like Faith) came with in some versions. They have the detail of a sculpt, but if removeable clearly must be some new rubbery or super soft plastic material. I agree it looks odd on Buffy, maing her neck appear too short - I guess there's always a trade off with such small items. :-)

WOW! both new figures rock! go DST! i see alot of hair-up Buffy customs in the future lol. i don't like the deluxe figures but those head sculpts are going to be put to VERY good use on the old statuesque style figs.

Eh....I don't want any figures to have that "in-action" look, it always turns out crappy and this figure is an example of that. Think about it, how many times do Buffy or Faith make that squinty expression in one episode? And even when they do is the shot for more than a second? Sarah Michelle Gellar and Eliza Dushku are so pretty too, why would any of us want their faces to be all scrunched up while they're not even in an action pose? If DST was making a statue of Buffy & Faith in the middle of a catfight then I would understand but when you make a figure that articulated you should let the consumer decide what they want to do with it.

Alright, I am still learning alot about photoshop. I am NO pro. But maybe if her eyes were painted bigger, and they altered her eyebrows she'd look better. Her face seems to sag lower on the right side. I hope it's only the angle. And her face is not proportionate. Eliza's lips are not so smooshed in the center. and I don't think the eyes or the nose are sculpted correctly. But that's just me. Gawd I wish they would just scan the woman already! I screwed around with that picture and came up with this.... Since the page in the magazine was a little off due to the seam, I picked up the left side of Faith's face so she'd match up alright and then I just started to add makeup and mess around with the eyebrows and nose. I used a picture of the MAC Faith to get the tip of the nose so that it would look a bit more defined.

that buffy is just amazing, the old buffy figures (series 2) are so hard to find, and can be expensive, these will just open up new worlds for customising, im going to buy quite a few (depending on price) to use for customsing, not sure bout the body but the head will be grea, i wanna see OMWF BUFFY, BUFFY GOOD lol, faith is cool too, just wat we needed for a tru figure, with a little make over she'll be great -wayne

i have a feeling that OMWF will have the outfit that she wore when Giles was sing 'Standing in the Way' ( White top , grey trousers ) because that sculpts are very similar , unless we get a new sculpt Wow I never even considered that it wouldn't be the red top from the final number... I think myself and most others assumed that one. I'll be sad if that's not it! Though you could very well be right on this, as it's an easy enough repaint.

The Faith is awful. It looks worse than the much-maligned Sideshow figure.
If it doesn't get fixed, I'd rather that it never even see the light of day.

Though you could very well be right on this, as it's an easy enough repaint. I think it'll be the final outfit, too, if not for the simple fact that she had a jacket that she took off, and they all seem to be coming with removable jackets. When I think of OMWF Buffy, I think of the red shirt with the swooping collar, spreading her arms out to her side. If it's not like that, I'll be dissappointed.

I'm extremely excited about the new Faith figure, I think she looks fine...could be better but she still looks great.
My ONLY problem with this one is that she should have straight hair...please, please, please resculpt the hair for the GD Faith, that hair is fine for the other 2 variants, but I am dying for a straight haired Faith.
And the people complaining about having to wait 6 months for these figures were obviously not around in the days of MAC where it would take 2+ years from announcement to release...be grateful.
PLEASE DST, give us STRAIGHT hair for this faith...and while you're at it, make several other faith variants...I want an army of the greatest character to ever appear on any TV show EVER (IMO). Repaints, two packs, whatever you gotta do...go for it...

I think that EOD Buffy looks great. That head sculpt looks so much like SMG. Faith needs improvement. I wasnt sure if I would get these but after this I will be getting them. Cant wait for Angel & Spike photos.

I think she's quite good. I agree with you all about her face though. Can't wait to see OMWF Buffy.

I'm not loving the Faith head right now. Eliza is much prettier than this figure, and I won't pretend to know why, but I hope it is just a bad angle and she'll look amazing in the next photo. I will say that I think her forehead is too short, though.
And I am with FM: Graduation Day FAITH NEEDS STRAIGHT HAIR!! The showed a shift in her character and when she joined the Mayor, her hair got straight. More importantly, in the big buffy/faith fight, her hair is straight in that outfit. Let the others be curly, but make this one straight.

I like the other deluxe Buffy (I think it's GD) but her joints are too noticiable. Does anyone know how much these will be? -Fred

In my opinion DST did a much better job of capturing the likeness of SMG than ED.

I screwed around with that picture and came up with this.... Glory, that looks really good. I really do not understand whats going on with the thin eyes. I was thinking about it and Faith's thin eyes seem to be the same effect DST went with Willow from the Together Forever 2pack. I really love that Willow figure but her thin eyes arent doing it for me and Faith's eyes should not be this thin. Whats up with the thin eyes DST? I hope its not catchy!!

THANK GOD for an updo buffy finally we all have waited a long time to get one and this one looks simply amazing i do hope they try to buff out some of the joints so they looks less like action figures and more like SMG and Eliza(dont worry i know their toys im not crazy) you can see the joints im talking about more clearly on the 'Graduation Day' Buffy.but i think the same thing with the 12 inch figures the big cluncky joints make them look foolish! but they still look beautiful and i cant wait to get an 'End of Days' buffy! ;D
