Was this woman the host of the MTV awards? Whats she said was very rude and horrible. It didnt make me laugh. The thing about the penis's that was not at all funny just horrible To be fair, if you attend red carpet events a few hours before you know you're due to go to prison, you're just asking for criticism... I do admit, I felt a little sorry for her too when I knew she had to sit through those jokes but really, I shouldn't. Her career is based on publicity stunts and attention seeking - if people didn't make jokes about it or criticize her then she'd be doing something wrong (and she wouldn't be nearly as famous as she is today).

And ya know what ticks me off, the most? She'll go home, be under house arrest, in her own little wing of her mansion with her computer, ipod, and all her other toys and her nice soft bed. Lame. haha yeah thats the first thing I thought when I heard "House Arrest". Her home is bigger than towns in the UK I'd wager. lol you're not serious? The jails are run by the country, which unsurprisingly has more money and support than Paris. They're not scared, they're just corrupt. Uhm.. yeah I am Then I give up. I just... give up.

It strenghtens the messege behind it. And I wouldn't want her to go back in at my request. I'm completely against special treatment of specific persons.

Omg, I just remembered...in my senior year of highschool, I had to do a paper on a controversial topic, and my thesis was that celebrities should be treated the same as average citizens, and Paris was one of my three examples! The other two being Anna Nicole Smith (which I feel kinda bad about now, R.I.P.) and Winona Ryder.

I figured I should take advantage of the recent Paris news discovery as it relates to her in parts.

Special treatment is everywhere, if its a girl who talk her way out of a ticket and flirt with the officer, or even someone who's gonna have a better insurance and gets a better room at hospital.

It was like the only paper I ever actually CARED about lol. But it's kind of ironic that I'm a mild Paris fan now...

Wow a joint subject paper? lol I must seem all english and quaint. I'm about to drop all debatey type subjects for good to focus on art and design and I guess I'm getting a lil nostalgic hehe.

You're not arguing for me, you're arguing against me as we clearly don't agree on this. And fair enough if you don't want to argue in that sense of the word. The statement I quoted was still flawed. What the hell? I was on the same topic as you On Topic: I wonder how many prisoners will go on hunger strike in reaction to it working for Paris? lol

Yeah I know, but someone shouldn't get special treatment because they're rich and drove drunk without a license (she could have killed someone for God's sake). I hoped that she was going to stay there for the whole time, maybe she would have learned something, but obviously not. -Jess

It does seem really odd that someone could be let out of prison for having panic attacks and depression about being in prison. I mean, who doesn't feel that way if they have to go to prison?
It's like they're saying, "Oh, poor baby is upset that you're in prison? OK, we'll let you serve your sentence in your giant mansion instead." That's not exactly what prison is about.
I think it's one thing if they just gave her a short sentence because 5 days is the normal sentence for someone who does what she did. The judge was clearly prejudiced against her for being rich and spoiled. But it is very wrong that she got let out of prison because prison stressed her out to much.
Hello! It's prison. Everyone there is stressed.

As was pointed out, the sentence she had gotten was ridiculous and she obviously only got so much because of who she is. Where were all you people whining about unfair treatment then?
Its so stupid, there are 1000s of cases every day in the US where people are getting more or less time than they deserve. Like I said in another thread...there are people who murder others and dont do anytime while a graffiti artist can get years in prison. Its not fair and never will be. Paris Hilton lives in a whole nother world than the rest of us, I dont think her brain works the same way, to be honest. I'm not a huge fan of hers but I dont think she should have spent 40 days in prison.
As for Sarah Silverman, I watched the awards just to see Victoria Beckham and I was kind've embarassed for Sarah. Her jokes were horrible and I think her target audience is 12 year old boys...which probably works for MTV but she was really horrible. I hadnt seen much of her before and all I heard was good things and shes so hilarious and all this so I was shocked at how bad she was. I came online that day and saw that everyone else thought she was horrible too and I didnt feel bad.

Although I do admit, she wasnt THAT funny at the MTV movie awards, but her show ROCKS!
