Count me in! I will definately participate in as many as I can!
I love the wonder woman idea!
My idea is this...
Make a figure to go with an already existing figure. EX: Ghost Willow to go with Millitary Xander or Waiting in the Wings Fred to go with WITW Wes. I think that could be really fun!! It is kinda like the 2 packs that DST have been making lately. They wouldn't have to be romantically linked like the DST 2 packs, just so that they go together like my examples.

I don't make customs, but I really enjoy them. I've always loved the challenges and looking at all of the entries. It would be nice if we could vote on the entries in the challenges.

You are not obliged to come up with increasingly wacky ideas. If you like someone else's idea, please second it. That gives it more weight with me.
Remember these are non-competitive challenges. We want to encourage the customisers to participate, not make it difficult for them.
If these challenges work out, they will continue indefinitely. After each monthly challenge is complete, I'll add another to the end of the list.
This is a Buffy/Angel forum, so all themes must be related in some tenuous way to Buffy/Angel or Joss. There won't be any themes outside of that. There are other boards for other toy lines.

I like the fanfiction one. I have the perfect fanfic in mind too and ideas for a wave at least. Most of the characters already appeared on the show some of them are just a little different.

I'm game! Of course getting the time to work on it is the real challenge - so as long as work isn't crazy and I'm not working 80 hour work weeks, then I'll be happy to join! :-) Thanks! :-) Newton

Thanks for the great reponse to this. I'll be able to use most of these ideas. Popular themes can also be repeated in the future. The challenges based on your brainstorming will be scheduled from 1st May 2006. Just to get us started, I'm setting up a dead-easy challenge for April. There is only one week's notice, so I'm choosing something that I know plenty of customisers probably have in the works anyway. The challenge is to make customs of Buffy herself looking gorgeous, in your eyes. I'll certainly have several pieces. btvsfigs.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=Customize&action=display&thread=1143051159The thread will be unlocked on April 1st 2006. If you have any comments prior to that, you can post them here.

One more small idea I've had is to offer all participants specific fantags or badges for each non-contest. This would incorporate computor artists, and if it's a badge, the members can put them on the figures' pics on their website to link back to the forum. Also might be an incentive to get people to join. Oh, and another simple challenge idea could be to just alter a figure that has been released...maybe color a top a different color, change the likeness, etc. Super simple just in case we need another uber easy one. Ironical, right? LOL I may not have the means to create figures until summer, but I'll try my best to help the forum stay fresh!

I just had an idea for a Board Custom Challenge or Competition.
The theme would be “The Buffyverse - Where Are They Now”
The basic premise would be for the customizer to imagine where members of the Verse are today, what they are doing, where they are doing it, if they are still together, or who is with who? Are they still fighting the good fight, or have they “dropped out.” The outfits can then be based accordingly.
Of course the customizer would have to take into consideration where the character they choose to make left off in the season finale, were there clues dropped as to where they are now, etc. Also, any hints of the Buffy characters that were dropped in the last season of Angel, would also be taken into consideration. Or, the customizer could make up a completely new story, without using any hints from either show. This idea lets the customizer use his or her imagination in creating an imaginary present scenario for their chosen character.
What do you think? I mean, I myself may even enter this one - using body switch parts of course. I would love to be able to finally contribute something to the Board, as well has take part in a Challenge.
Can I Be Anne? Annette.

I think it would be fun to match up a customizer with a fan fic writer! Like with swap partners, we could be randomely matched up with a writer. The customizer could decide on what character they wanted to do (sence they will have to come up with the parts) and then the writer coulg provide a story to go with that character.

I second the “The Buffyverse - Where Are They Now” theme. I already have an idea for it.

" Mars/ Venus Swap: Take a character, design them as if it were the opposite sex. " This is funny because I saw a figure that I thought looked like a female Spike recently. I'm not sure how Angel would look like as a woman. Or how Buffy would like like as a man for that matter. It would be interesting to see everyone's take on it.
A lot of your ideas sound fun, Willfan.
