I agree the reuse is terrible, because we just pay for a head and the same body, i think it's very cheap, i don't care if we get more characters that's irrelevant to me. I just have a Dejavu of saint seiya right now. I think white witch willow is good, but it's the same body of kendra and also what i gonna do with my old white willow, this is an x-men dejavu.

To answer the initial question: people are more forgiving on reuse in the deluxe line compared to the classic line because that is standard for super-articulated figures. That much articulation makes some amount of reuse absolutely necessary to make the line financially viable. As has been pointed out, Marvel Legends (a huge mass market line mind you) reuses a lot of parts, but they do it in skilled ways that it is most often not noticeable at all (as DST has done very well with the Willows). The other thing that makes us forgiving is that it gets us a ton more characters. Kennedy and Kendra just wouldn't be viable in the standard line, but in deluxe they can be done cost effectively!

At first when I read that they were reusing buffy/faith parts I thought how cheap but when I saw Chosen willow red and white hair I was blown away, I don't mind at all because they have done new sculpts for halloween and vamp will and used the rubber to make a cool skirt for tough love will. The handy thing to remember is if the parts all fit the same figure they can go back and give us new versions of buffy and faith, whats my line kendra could be made from halloween will's top, we can get more 2packs and boxsets. I say carry on DST build up your library of parts and give us some truely amazing deleux figures, they are now my favourites.

I pretty much agree with Haephestus and dhoffryn. And I feel like I'm in leige with the devil or something, by saying those names Seriously though, I hope DST continues to build up their Deluxe parts library. I mean they can use Deluxe Spike's legs to make a Xander, or even a Giles (Band Candy) somewhere down the line. I would love to get a Deluxe 70s Spike... they already made the bare arms for the Doomed Spike, all they'd really need is to add some of the bracelets (glued on?) and maybe a removable ringlet belt (refer to 70s Spike pics if you don't know what I'm talking about!) around his waist, new knee pieces (torn up jeans), shin pieces with the combat boots... and a new chest sculpt with all those pins and the necklaces. And of course a new head. But the basics are all there... It took me damned long enough to finally get some of the Deluxe figures, and I love them. It's renewed my interest in the figures, although more towards the Deluxes than the MAC styled ones. As long as DST keeps up the quality and "smartly" reuses the figure parts, they've got my attention. I would like to see removable / swappable heads for someone like "Chosen" or fuzzy pink Vamp Willow, though.
