OK, not to spoil the superposeable party going on here, but you guys are going way overboard. Only 1 superposeable Buffy figure has been announced so far, and some of you are compiling lists which are longer than the entire line of figures which has been produced in six years!
There are some great ideas there, but let's be realistic. If they plan on releasing SP Buffy in early 2005, then we may see one or two additional SP figures next year as well. Therefore, wouldn't it make more sense for everyone to post just their Top 3 choices? That would give a much clearer picture for any DST employees lurking on these boards...
That being said, my top choices would be:
1) Angel. The ultimate Angel figure is yet to be produced and this would be the best chance of doing so. As the long coat might impede poseablity, dress him in the shorter leather waistcoat he was also often seen wearing. Angel never really changed his look (aside from that weird hairdo at the beginning of s5), so this would make the perfect fighting Angel figure for all possible displays.
2) Chosen Buffy. Or at least Buffy in a white or tan blouse, to represent her in season 5/6/7. She wore a lot of bright clothes, think of the Season 4, 5 and 7 finales. I'm kinda hoping DST will produce a Chosen variant of their GD Buffy...
3) Illyria. The skin-tight suit would lend itself to a superposeable version quite well. One problem might be that they can't reuse Buffy's bodyparts, as the suit is very much textured. Then again, they will never be able to use generic bodies like Marvel Legends; superheroes all wear spandex, but the Buffy characters (especially the non-human ones) all have distinct looks.
OK, just my two cents.

2) Faith
3) Angel
4) Chosen Buffy

Pick three more? First Buffy, then do Faith, Spike and Angel. Gotta go with the primary superpowered fighters.
And once they're finished fighting the baddies, with the superposeability you could get some interesting pairings and positions with those four...
(What, like you weren't thinking that too... C'mon.)

Illyria I think would work really well as a superposable figure. If we get Angel, Faith & Spike too I think that they would be the only ones suitable for the deluxe treatment.

No One !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 12 points of articulation is enough ditto. I think all the articulation takes away from the figure.

About reusing parts: Toy Biz has stated that for their Legends line, they must re-use parts in order to make it profitable. All of the development and tooling to make a super-articulated figure cost a lot more than just cutting joints into a normal sculpt. Now if a mass market line like the Legends needs to re-use parts to make money, I imagine DST will adopt a similar approach. I personally wouldn't mind this since their poseability allows them to be very unique (compared to a figure like Buffy II basically stuck in one pose where re-using parts would be painfully obvious).
Illyria's name keeps coming up here, and while she offers no ability to re-use parts, I have to think that chances of her being super-poseable are very good. After all, DST has confirmed that she would be totally different from a Fred figure, and if you're not making a variant, might as well make them totally separate!

I'm probably gonna get hated for this, but does anybody prefer the normal 6" figures?

I definitely don't. Articulation is so much better than i figure who can basically just stand there and turn at the forearms. Look at the ML line. Amazing articulation AND detail. I've been dreaming of a Buffy like this since ML came out. Now I won't feel bad shelling out 12 - 17 bucks for one figure. That's what stopped me from buying most of the BtVSfigs.

I do, because the articulation most of the times ruined the sculpture of the figure. I believe it was a good idea the full articulation deluxe series, but if you want articulation at least the company need to do it right My biggest complains are the hips, the notable joints of Buffy against the clean joints of marvel figures. Clearly Marvel managed the joints more good that Diamond.

Exactly, it looks like nothing but it is very important in a female figure.

I think the joints look fine. If you want a super articulated figure you're gonna have to accept the articulation.

The joints could be done in a much better way.

yeah i gotta have my say on these figures , personally i hate the looks of all the joints on these new figs for me they spoil the whole figure , i much prefere the 6 inch figures and i would love to see an illyria figure made by DST that would be the muts nuts !!! although i do love the new facial likeness on buffy they have done a fantstic job on that ;D shame about the faith figures wether there 6 or 12 inch they just dont seem to have captured her face at all, shame lee

The peg looks like nothing but if you see it in a close picture clearly the peg ruined the end of days buffy and graduation buffy as for Once more with feelings probably is a buffy of Tower again, it is the best for now, because it hides the joints very well.

Most likely the hip joint with the peg can be twisted to the side without affecting articulation at all. This would look better while displayed.
On the other hand, there are some (those who have 90 % of their posts related to complaining about the deluxe line) who are not likely to be happy with that solution. To them I say: stop whining! If you don't like it, don't buy it, and stop taking up space in the deluxe threads with your constant unchanging complaints.
