I bet that the ball can be pushed down some into the foam.

Yeah, I think it could be pushed down into the foam.

Short of, undoing the velvet, cutting down the sponge and reassembling it, the lid will not fit on. The sponge seating is too high, I tried believe me. In fact I nearly shattered the blasted orb! The lid needed to be recessed slightly to encompass the orb. BTW, anyone see the disclaimer on the front of the box "Will not restore souls"?

A little off topic, but I bet Anyanka's necklace will say "Does not grant wishes" or "Can't create Alternet Buffy-less Universes" or something like that.
I am so tempted to buy the orb. Its so cool.

Wow, from the pictures here, this thing looks more amazing than I could have hoped. I'm a little disappointed to read that you can't close the case with the orb inside, but I'd probably leave it open most of them time anyway.
Now, I just have to make it until Tuesday, when my BCC order is slated to arrive.

I just got mine and was disappointed that it didn't fit inside the box with the lid on it'll be a pain to have to dust the velvet crap constantly. I was tempted to push mine down into the sponge too but thought better of it.. don't want it to break on account of shoddy gypsy craftsmanship. (No offense to any real gypies or their handywork)

I just got mine and I am absolutly in love with it! It is a little weird that the lid doesn't fit but I'll be displaying it open anyway. I'm going to put it inside a glass curio so that I don't have problems with dust. Anyway, I think it is well worth the price.

I just got mine as well. I really wanted the lid fit on with the orb inside so I made it so it did. The velvet is just glued around the bottom of the case, so I very carefully pulled the velvet loose and removed the foam. I then cut the foam so that the orb would fit with the lid. I then replaced the velvet around the foam, and voila! It now fits!

Becky, great minds think alike. I did the exact same thing... I really had no choice.. There I was.. minding my own business and the orb just kept staring at me and taunting me with it's openness.... I did the only thing a slayer COULD do in this situation; I grabbed something sharp and pointy and attacked it. I had to cut a bit of the glued on velvet as it wouldn't pull off, but I'd say I took a good inch of foam off the bottom and then stuffed it back into the little hole I created with my handy dandy scissors. Now the box holds the orb and the lid closes too. *happy sigh*. I wonder why they would have put the orb out if the box couldn't close with the orb inside in the first place... that seems like a bit of a large oversight.

I didn't use any glue. I didn't reglue the velvet back to the orb case. And yep, I'll try to post some pix tonight or tomorrow.

I just got my Orb (a day early too, thanks BCC!) and I'm very impressed. Sure, I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't close -- and I'm not brave enough to try cutting the foam -- but I actually like it displayed open. I'll try to take some pictures and post them soon, but for now I have to wait until Apple brings .Mac back online.

Got my Orb today and I love it. I can't wait for the Scythe, that is if it even comes out this month.

Hey everyone, I finally got some pictures up here!I took one without the flash, so you could get a truer sense of what color the velvet lining is (I've noticed in all the pictures I've seen online so far, the flash makes it look blue.). This is probably my favorite prop so far. My list looks like this: 1. Orb of Thesulah 2. Sword of Angelus 3. Slayer's Stake 4. Slayer's Cross 5. Vampyr Book * I don't count the Hibben Jackal, since it's not a prop replica, just an actual product used in the show.

Mine should be arriving by the Friday. I am so stoked as this is my first Buffy prop. The second is the Urn of Osiris which will be later this year. This prop duplication just may be my next wave of Buffy addictions (right after the figures).

the box is fairly decent sized... I'm at work and don't have it in front of me so I can't give you definate dimentions.. I'd say it's about 6 inches tall probably about 5 inches or so across. The orb is about the size of a navel orange (it's a good sized orb).
Helpful or more confusing? You be the judge!
