Seems weird to make buffy again so soon. It's the same pose. Only the clothes and hair are different. This is called the "alternate edition." I hope it's not too limited. So is it called that so we don't complain that it's the same figure?? Will this mean it's cheaper? Probably not, eh? edit: The sideshow site also has electric tiki as an upcoming pre-order this week- let's hope the tooned up buffy is one of those. Even though this pf has been announced, is it likely that there could be a bunch of 12" figures announced too?

I hope so. Wesley would rock, and how cool would it be if sideshow were the first to make gunn or doyle?

Gunn and Doyle would be awesome. I would also love Sideshow to make the first Harmony. If they did, DST probably wouldnt be far behind with their own versions.

It would be nice if it came out faster though.

that is so NOT COOL for the fans that bought the "original edition" of the buffy premium statue.
even though the season one version was not my "definitive" version of buffy, i chose to support the line by paying the high price tag. this was in hope that the line would continue and eventually we would see premium versions of all the core scoobs as well as new sculpts of the characters showing their evolution across the series (i.e. a season 3 buffy, a gift buffy, a chosen buffy).
obviously it was a poor choice on my part because now sideshow is doing half ass "variant editions" of the same statue i already have. i'm all for a new premium edition graduation day buffy but not an "alternative edition" of the original statue announced AFTER the first one sells out.
i am happy for those of you who were smart enough to just complain about the original and then wait to purchase this new version... but i have the worst taste in my mouth right now. yuck.

I wasn't expecting another PF Buffy so soon. I was hoping it'd be an Angel PF or one of the 12" figures. I feel sorry for those who bought the first PF Buffy because they spent alot of money when another has just been made. I think i will be buying her because i didn't get the chance on the first PF Buffy so that's a good thing i guess. She looks like she's got the sculpt of Hush Buffy or Graduation Day Buffy, i can't really tell. Looking forward to seeing more pics of her. So far i think she looks good and more in character. Love the hair here too

I think some stores might be pissed about this aswell, any that still have the first statue in stock anyway. Now they might not be able to sell those anymore. Personally i like this one better, the hair is great. I honestly don't know if i will buy it though, depends on how limited they are and if i have any money

I've tried to sharpen the image BillyBudd resized for us to make it look clearer:

I'm thinking those of us silly enough to buy the first piece Sideshow offered thinking another Buffy wouldn't be around for a while and who wanted to support the line out to be offered the trousers and a interchangeable head (if that's possible) kind of like the Spike PF is offering.
How many people can keep forking out a few hindered dollars? Not to mention have the space to display the figures.
Thanks for nothing Sideshow I feel insulted!

I can see why some people are annoyed or upset. This kind of thing actually happens a lot in the collectibles industry, and it's kind of sneaky. You don't hear about the other editions until the first one is already on your shelf. When Sideshow does this, the alternate editions are typically really limited. I have the feeling that isn't going to be the case with this figure though. Anyway, I think Sideshow actually had good intentions at heart, so even though I can see where the naysayers are coming from, I still have to support Sideshow.

I wonder if this is the only Buffy item from Sideshow being shown at the Toy Fair.
I would really like to see what's next with the standard 12" figures.

Oh same here.
I so desperately wanted them to announce a Wesley figure, and I'm still rather stunned that there hasn't been any news of any more figures in the 12 inch line from either Buffy or Angel. I do hope this isn't an indication of their desire to stop it.

No one has posted pics from Sideshows show room. So theres no reason to think we wont see more new Buffy stuff. I cant imagine them not showing at least one new 12".
But it does seem like many companies are holding some stuff back to premiere at NYCC in 2 weeks. So if we dont see anything new at toy fair, maybe we will see it at NYCC?

here's pictures from sideshow's booth. giles, premium spike and premium buffy "alternative mix". of course it doesnt mean that they won't make an announcement of another new figure but I kind of doubt it personally. www.cooltoyreview.com/tf2007/SSCother/image19.aspfor the record, i'm not so sad about being "hosed" into buying the first Premee Buffy anymore. while the ponytail is cool, the outfit looks like Buffy's 'graduation day' was in 1989, not 1999. to be honest, i think this version looks likenothing more than a first class customizing job. if it makes more people buy into the buffy premium line then that might be kind of great because maybe we will get more characters eventually. but at least i don't feel gypped by sideshow anymore. spike looks like sex though. can't wait for april.

OH, WooWoo!!! I will be making the final payment in 2 weeks for the first buffy PF, and I will also be getting this one, along with spike. I think that there is enough of a difference in this one so i will be getting it aswell. I may have to kick my parents out of their house so i can claim there bedroom, i have absolutely no more room left in my room t fit anything else in. I am seriously contemplating getting rid of my double bed and going back to a single so i can get a shelf unit in.
But i like this one and if they can keep this one looking like the delisoius(sp) Sarah Michelle Gellar, then im happy.

This PF Buffy looks so much better! If only I could afford one!
Also, how come both DST and Sideshow use the same color schemes on their latest Buffy figure?
