I just hope that they really don't plan on doing this with future figures, I'd hate to keep paying almost $100 every time they come out with 2 versions of the same character. I'd rather save $15 to $20 buying 1 version at TST BCC. I think that characters such as Giles, Cordy, Anya, Dawn etc will remain limited to 5,000 and be available from retail stores, but the more obscure characters like Joyce, Darla, etc will be a limited edition run only.

I guess I just don't quite understand why everyone is speaking doom for the BTVS line "oh this doesn't bode well" "oh it doesn't look good" and blah blah
Out of the 26 figures listed on the site, 14 have sold completely out. It's obvious this line is doing well for Sideshow, they wouldn't be producing so many figures and announcing new figures every quarter or so. Take a look at some of the other lines Planet of the Apes, XFiles, Star Trek ... don't see so many red sold out boxes do you?
I imagine Sideshow is just testing the market with this exclusive Darla figure, I very much doubt they are going to produce say a Giles figure and limit it to 750.
I guess I'm just a little weary of hearing "Oh this doesn't bode well!!". Sideshow is steadily producing these figures, and has stated in articles they have no intention of abandoning this line as it is selling well for them.

Hello everyone! Some of you who participate in Sideshow's chats and online events and/or post/lurk over at the Freaks Board may recognize me (thanks FireflyFanatic for helping me get a coveted membership over here ). I enjoy lurking and reading comments, both good and bad. I'll try to answer some questions over here when I get a chance... if I actually have the answers, that is. Sometimes, unfortunately, there is just no firm answer - there are many shades of gray in the collectibles manufacturing business! In this case, one of our wholesale accounts began taking advanced pre-orders on a product that was not intended to be offered to wholesale accounts. We apologize if there was any confusion of the availability of this items and if any end collectors were inconvenienced. As for edition sizes on future releases, only the production guys know that! And they keep it to themselves until the figures are scheduled for release. I'm inclined to believe that they know what they're doing, and will scale edition sizes to what they believe the market can handle. Cheers! dusty

Does this mean you can't buy both versions of this figure from anywere except SS? If it does then this truly sucks. I cannot buy from SS because i don't have a Fax, Credit Card or whatever so my only option is eBay. And if Darla won't be on eBay then i'm done for, yet another figure missing from my collection. This isn't good news

This was kind of a strange arangement for retailers as we all expected one of them to be available for wholesale. Thankfully we checked will SS before pre-ordering them. I am not sure if this is going to be the way of the future, but I hope not.
Thanks to SS Dusty for coming in here and pointing out some facts.
The problem with exclusives is that retailers want to offer them to have the complete line, but we have to pay full retail. I only get a couple as I do not want to take away from the other collectors.

How come you need mroe than one? Normally to hold for people that missed out. I have a couple customers that were not able to order on time and were only able to get them after it was sold out. I don't like selling at eBay prices so they saved some money. Otherwise I would just cover what I wanted as a collector and that would be it.
