and the Master too! www.sideshowtoy.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=0 The link goes to the front page, I tried linking directly to the sales page but it wouldn't let me. On the first page, just click on "POST COMIC CON BIG SAVINGS!" under the picture. I'm a little annoyed though because, you know, just bought PG Buffy, Willow and Der Kindestod when they were released not so very long ago for their full prices! Anyway, for anyone who is just starting to collect them this would be a great deal.

Thanks for the heads up! I picked up the Exclusive backpack Willow for $30! What a steal.
And I don't know how long this has been up for but there is a waitlist for Exclusive Faith and Exclusive Vamp Spike on thier site too. Maybe I'll get lucky and won't have to pay outragous prices for them.

Too bad you cannot combine this with the .99 deal. Guess Der Kindestod did not meet there sales expectations...didn't think he would. Still need him to complete my collection.

I'm definately going to have to reconsider some of my preorders now.
The only reason I pre-ordered Der Kindestod was because they claimed he was really close to being sold out. And now they've reduced his price and are also offering him in a set with Buffy.
And now they're even reducing the Sideshow exclusives.
They had better start offering REALLY good exclusive accessories (Sorry, a dead bird isnt going to cut it) if they want people to pay their ridiculous prices when EVERY figure ends up available for $30 or less.

Keep in mind, just because a toy is close to selling out, does not mean it will. These are PRE-ORDERS (atleast in your case) and people will cancel a few days before a figure comes out, or there credit cards may get declined. Yeah, it sucks that you paid $15 more then whats on sale right now, but the fact is you have had that figure for over a month.

Yes, I understand how it all works. And I can understand how the exclusive Willow is so cheap because of how hideous she was. But it just seems odd that they had to send out an email saying how close Der Kindestod was to selling out...yet...months later, they now have so many left that they need to deduce the price by 33% and also plan on offering it in a set with Buffy.
I really dont care all that much. Because, besides Der Kindstod, the only peices I ordered online were the ones that have done pretty well (Like Prom Buffy and Hawaiian Vamp. Spike) I'm waiting to get my Exclusive Oz and I'm pretty close to cancelling my preorder for Xander. But I really like the tombstone so I'm excited for Vampire Buffy.
I'm just making a statement about how it seems to be getting more pointless to order anything directly from Sideshow.

FM - I kind of understand where you are coming from. I'm going to be less spontaneous in ordering as soon as a figure is released as I have been in the past. I'm a completist and I always do want the figures but is Dru's tiny, little bird accessory really worth the extra money for her? Before I'd want the exclusives because of the extra's but they really aren't that impressive any more and we're paying extra for them now when in the past it was the same price.
Willow's backpack, Buffy's tombstone, Oz's dingoes shirt and Xander's yearbook are good exclusives for me. I didn't care for Subway Spike's boombox so I cancelled that pre-order. But, in the future, unless it is a really cool accessory I'll just buy my figures all from the Buffy's Collector's Club.
I just joined that club but if I had already been in it I probably would not have ordered from Sideshow the exclusive Origin's Angel/Liam either just for another candelabra.
But VampireStake is also right about the fact that we have the figures because we really wanted them and what if everyone really happens to want that one too and you wait to buy and it does sell out. Then you end up on Ebay and pay extra for it and are kicking yourself for not buying it sooner.
I really like the Der kinderstod figure and don't regret buying him. I thought he would've soldout easily because he's really cool looking but I guess a lot of people are also creeped out big time by him. Plus we could only get him through Sideshow initiailly. I've seen a couple on Ebay since but not many so if he had sold out, that would be it.
I had to laugh at their offering him and Buffy in a set because it was more expensive than if you just ordered them each separately!

The only Buffy Sideshow figures that have really 'increased' in value has been SDCC Angel, Spike, and SDCC Werewolf. All the others have stayed the same, or infact became cheaper (Master, Willows, PH Buffy, Vamp Spike, Faith). I'm still only two figures away from completing my collection so far (SDCC Angel and Der Kindestod) but with the amount of new figures coming out, and the ones not yet announced, there is alot to look forward to.

Have you seen some of the prices for Buffy and the 3 Gentlemen figures? I've seen a few of those auctions go for over $250 (for the set). GD Buffy and Angel have gone for over $50-60 too at times. It all depends on the demand. A lot of the figures you've mentioned, VampireStake, are still relatively new ones that could be more valuable over time. I'm not talking about the Master, Willow or Faith because I don't think they were huge sellers to begin with but if they become harder to find the prices might go up. I'm a frequent Ebay watcher so I know these go through waves. Right now there's a ton of Sideshow figures available because Sideshow the last couple of times it's released a figure has done a multiple release. When they were releasing one figure at a time the demand for it was higher. Maybe a lot of people can only buy one at once and are hoping to pick some up later but for those of you who are patient you are getting some better deals because of Sideshows new trend to release four or more figures at once.

I'm not comparing the Sideshow releases of 3 years ago to the actual 'current' line. Buffy and the Gentlemen are not partof the current line, and are considerably different then what we have now.
Its true Sideshow has been releasing more and more figures, but the demand is there, and they will take it. How many future figures were shown at SDCC? Not many. Since Prophecy girl came out in Jan/Feb, weve only had Vampire Spike, Oz, Werewolf Oz, and Der Kindestod. Having a figure a month isn't a bad thing considering there are only a handful of announced figures.
Sorry, I really would love to say more, but my hands are tied.

I'm glad the demand is there, and hopefully because the line has been successful maybe the prices will go down because they are making more and more. First they only released Buffy and the Gentlemen, and then it was, what, a few years later I guess that they released, GD Buffy, Angel, Spike and Faith, so that was four I think that year. And this year once it's all over with we'll have the two PG Buffy's, Willow, Vamp Spike, Vamp Willow, Oz, WW Oz, Xander, Origins Angel, Subway Spike, Dru and Vamp Buffy. I may be wrong about when Vamp Willow came out - was that last year with the Master? And we don't know if they may announce one or two more before the year is out. Vamp Buffy and Dru are both scheduled for the fourth quarter but maybe they'll surprise us with someone else. But that's still a lot of figures for one year so I'm thinking Sideshow's feeling the BtVS line is a big success.
Maybe these lower prices are a good indication that they may be offering newer figures for less. And if not, there are other stores and Ebay that we can get them less than Sideshow's price if you don't mind not getting the exclusive version. I just won't be so quick to order from Sideshow first in the future, unless it's a really awesome exclusive accessory.

The only 'awesome' accessory has been the Scythe and Leather Jacket...everything else is 'meh'

Well, I like Vamp Buffy's tombstone and Spike's extra pair of regular hands myself. I missed out on Faith's scythe because I wasn't collecting them yet and wasn't willing to pay like $80 for an exclusive Faith on Ebay just to get one! And I thought I'd like the Hawaiian shirt on vamp Spike but he just doesn't look good in it. Oh yeah, also looking forward to Oz's Dingo's shirt. Willow's backpack was okay too. But, they gave the Master an extra candelabra and Origin's Angel is coming with one too as his exclusive so I think that is really lame and redundant. They should've been able to come up with something more fun for Liam/Angel - maybe a tankard of ale or something!
And I absolutely love the Dru figure but the dead bird accessory is really lame. A Miss Edith doll for her would've been the perfect accessory and fit in so well with Dru. If they had wanted to make the dead bird accessory better it could've come in a bird cage as well.

I know what you mean about the exclusive accessories! I recently cancelled my orders for Origins Angel & Punk Spike from Sideshow, as the candles & boom box weren't worth the extra £17 it costs me for each figure. So I'm now getting those two from Forbidden Planet for £28. I've kept my orders for the rest, as I think Oz & Xander's accessories sound very cool, and although Dru's still could have been better, I kinda like the look of it. Also, Vamp Buffy's tombstone is a must-have

The only one I canceled was Origins Angel.
I don't have a problem paying extra for exclusive accessories, and I like to show my support for Sideshow by buying through them.

I think you are showing just as much support for Sideshow by buying their products at any store. I've gotten most of my Sideshow figures directly from Sideshow themselves until very recently and a few that had already been sold out when I started collecting I got on Ebay. But to say that you aren't showing support to Sideshow if you don't buy directly through them isn't a fair assesment. Sideshow sells their products to other stores and if we buy them that's definitely showing support for the line.

I didn't say that you weren't showing support, I didn't say it was wrong. I didn't say I was judging anyone else. I said this is why I buy the exclusives from them instead of Ebay or waiting to see if another retailer has them.

Wow, a little touchy there? I apologize if I misunderstood your meaning but that's how it came across to me. What I don't understand is why you feel the need to attack instead of just explaining what you meant.
